I can’t believe it has been over a week since my last posting here! So much to catch up on…
first - Chris Botti -Massey Hall - terrific! He is so personable, talks to the audience in such a nice way, and plays like crazy!
second - The Oscars!- no surprises except Tilda. Not that her performance in Michael Clayton wasn’t deserving - she was great, but so were the other gals in that category. Beat dressed? Katherine Heigl for sure! Here is a link to a site I subscribe to. Always cool movie stuff! Moviefone@aol.com
third - James Blunt - Sony Center - fabulous! When I haven’t popped a James cd in the player for awhile I forget what a moving way he has with lyrics. I love him, and so did the crowd as they yelled out to him throughout the show! Passionate music fans! The best!
fourth - Bryan Adams - I sat down and talked with him Thursday morning about his music and his new cd “11″. (I think I am in love! He is waaaaaaay cute in person!) It will be out March 18th, but CHFI will be giving you a chance to hear it first. I will be putting together an “Up Close And Personal” special to air soon, so be listening for exact air times. You are going to love the new CD, it is fabulous! Can’t wait to share it with you.
fifth - One Night Live Press Conference - Thursday afternoon was spent getting the good news from Josh Groban about the generous donation from Marla and Aubrey Dan of 8 million dollars for the Sunnybrook Women and Babies Program. The Dan’s shared their birthing experience from 15 years ago, why they are so passionate about this project and why they would commit with such generosity. A wonderful day for our community. Congrats to Sunnybrook! I chatted with RyanDan for a bit, they are so appreciative to all of you for your enthusiasm for their music, and I had a chance to get a hug from Josh! Am I a lucky gal or what? Then One Night Live! Man what a show! All of the performers gave us their best! Sleep who needs that? What is strong coffee for anyway? It was amazing and totally worth the late night!
Next week I will be keeping Erin and Mike’s chairs warm while they enjoy some vacation time. I always look forward to waking you up to take on the day, and working with Gord. I have a blast and you make me feel so welcome! Thanks!
Also next week - I have the honour of introducing Teri Hatcher at the Power Within For Women on Tuesday. I am very much looking forward to her inspiring message.
Whew! Don’t even ask what my family has been eating for supper! Last night it was just me - I had toast and cereal! I know! I know! Not great, but sometimes I don’t sweat it! I give myself the freedom to be 18 in a dorm!
One more thing - the birds are offering up a different song these days! Have you heard them? It is beautiful! Spring IS on the way! Another delicious moment when I hear them sing!
Thanks for stopping by. ’til next time…Stay Gru-v!
Tish
