I would agree with losing the penny on one condition only. That we would be guaranteed that the stores would round up ONLY to the nearest nickel and in order to ensure that this happens is for the stores to NOT get those extra few cents. Instead those few cents should go into provincial coffers to be used for specifically delineated purposes. That will either reduce our taxes or at least prevent some increases.

Ted,

You're right, I would love to be a fly on the wall in Calgary Transit's head office to hear how they plan on continuing the cover up... They've basically got caught with their pants down and figure "Once a year" is good enough... Does Calgary Transit forget that calgary has 660news, the Herald & The Sun Newspapers who report more stuff on transit then they openly admit to? Heck anyone can go onto the city of calgary website and read stuff on citybeat as well...

I think there needs to be a major shake up of Transit management, some of the older guys have become to complacent in their job and obviously dont care..

Why is the City trying to resurrect the dead? Surely these people are old enough to remember "we've been there, done that". Some of us still have that expensive "Blue Box" to prove it. Besides destroying the livelihood of many in small businesses, they plan to tax responsible homeowners that already recycle. They could hire a lot of people to clean up around the recycle bins for a lot of years for the cost of running the curbside program. Part of the problem at the bins is the wind which will also blow the stuff throughout every neighborhood. Why does Cochrane have a Green Bin for plastic like Yogurt containers etc. and we don't?
Thank you.

With so many undecided out there, I know a lot of my work friends are skipping out on wing night to watch the debate - to try to get a handle on whether to hold their noses and vote for Ed, or throw caution to the wind and vote for Taft.

Politics in the States can be at times more entertaining, but here in Alberta where Stelmack is on puppet strings, and will do whatever he is told, it would be nice to get back to an Alberta where a politician does what he says.

Thanks.
