Great little tidbits of inspiration, and funny too. I love how he intertwines your name into the message to make it feel like it’s just for you. The one I received today is…

While I do believe The Secret is an invaluable tool for helping people live happier, more meaningful and more abundant lives, I also think it’s beneficial to do more than just watch the movie.

The Secret doesn’t go into a lot of detail about how to put the principles into effect. A great follow-up book is Ask and it is Given by Esther Hicks. When I first started reading it, I was so excited for Steve to read it that I had to get another copy. I am now reading another one she wrote with her husband Jerry Hicks entitled The Law of Attraction which I am also really enjoying. These books help clarify what the Law of Attraction is all about and how to consciously make it work for you.

Another great resource is the online Secret forum. Lots of your questions will be answered there…or go ahead and ask them if they’re not!

The movie is full of all kinds of one-line tidbits of information. For example - “When the voice and vision on the inside become more profound and clear than the opinions on the outside, then you have mastered your life”. You might like this handy list of the top 100 quotes from the Secret.

One of the most important things to remember is to focus on the things you want in your life, rather than the things you don’t want. It sounds simple, but we’re all guilty of focusing on things we don’t want. We don’t want debt, we don’t want to be stuck in traffic, we don’t want to be sick etc. So instead we need to focus on what we do want…abundance, smooth safe trips to our destination, our wonderful health etc.

Change the words that rattle around in your head and you can change your life.

I first watched “The Secret” 3 months ago. It just landed in my lap. I was listening to Fred and Cathy one morning when someone called to tell them about it. As soon as I heard the words “changed my life” I knew I wanted to see it. A friend called a couple days later to ask if I had seen it. I borrowed her dvd and watched it that night.

If you don’t already know, the Secret is the Law of Attraction. This is not a new concept, but rather a new way of delivering it. The Law of Attraction (or LOA) is a fact. It is law. We’ve all had many times in our lives when it has worked for us, but didn’t necessarily know what it was. Have you ever thought about an old friend and then had them call or email the next day? Or, have you ever forgotten something inside the house, only to run back in and realize you left the stove on? This is the Law of Attraction at work. What we think about becomes what is.

I’ve read tidbits here and there about the LOA and it always made sense to me, but what’s different for me is that now I truly believe it. I believe that if you think about being successful, and really feel what it would be like to be successful, you will be. If you imagine and truly feel your dream job or the perfect person in your life…that will manifest. And, of course it works the other way too. If you continue to feel poor, you will stay poor. If you say to yourself that you will never meet your life partner, you never will. Again, we’ve all heard this before, but watching The Secret will make you truly believe it.

I’ll talk about the Secret a fair bit as I blog…and share stories along the way. I believe that if the whole world were to watch it, we would have a much happier place. You can watch The Secret online here, but I would recommend buying (or borrowing) the dvd as well…as you’ll likely want to watch it more than once.
