Tonight’s American Idol

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

I haven’t watched a full episode of AI in a long time. Until tonight. I believe I have been sucked right back in:)

David Cook’s rendition of Billy Jean was AMAZING!! His version is completely different than the original. One of the best idol performances ever. You can watch it here.

That’s really all I came to say. Good night..

Super Mario Lego

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

I used to spend a lot of time (and quarters) at the arcade when I was a kid. I then progressed to my own system. Nintendo. Not the Super or the 64. Just plain old Nintendo…

My favorite game was Super Mario Bros.

The reason I bring this up, is because someone has made a bunch of Super Mario videos out of lego…and they’re really good…

Faith Hill’s man’s parts.

I find it necessary to post this link to the video of Faith Hill givin’ someone heck for groping her man. This one just tickled the funny bone (mildly offensive language alert)…

Watch it here.

You will now be inundated with American Idol chatter.

So, I’ll try to get it out of the way quickly.

Jordin has been my favorite for a long time, so I am happy with the outcome. I enjoyed the top 2 and thought Melinda left when she should have. She’s a fantastic singer, but just doesn’t have the whole package like Jordin does. And obviously, this contest is not just about the singing. My boys loved Blake’s beat boxing…and I quite liked it too.

I loved the Beatles medley and seeing the top 12 and past winners. The Sanjaya/Joe Perry (of Aerosmith) thing was just weird and uncomfortable. I wonder why Joe didn’t just say no rather than seemingly suffer through it.

Yeah Jordin!

ok, it’s your turn!

Blogging is a lot like being on the radio…talk, talk, talk (or blog, blog, blog) with no one to talk (or blog) back. So, why don’t you introduce yourself?

How about your name, where you’re from and just for fun, complete this sentence…

I’m looking forward to _______________________.

And then there were four.

I thought it was funny at the beginning of the show how Ryan said “we’ll be stretching this out to an hour…and I promise noooo filler”. I just wish I had tuned in at 9:45 when the only real substance was on…I only came to see the results. Anyway, Phil Stacey was the first to go. So sad…such a good guy, and I love his voice. I’m guessing we’ll hear much more from Phil in the future. Bye for now Phil.

Next to have his dreams shattered was Chris Robertson. I liked him (they’re all good at this point), but he was never one of my faves and I expected to see him go.

So, I was 1 for 2 with my predictions. I did say I thought Lakisha would be the next to go, but that was before she performed last night. And last night, she rocked.

Whew!

Alright, Sanjaya’s gone! But, I must admit I was feeling bad for wishing it upon him. I mean, he’s definitely a lovable kid, and it was obvious how much it hurt him. He’s not even that bad of a singer (with many years ahead for improvement) and a career in shampoo sales will probably fair well if that doesn’t work out.

If I were in Vegas my bets would go (in order of their disappearance)…Lakisha, Chris, Phil, Blake, leaving Melinda and Jordin to duke it out in the finals. My final vote would go to Jordin, but I think Melinda will take the crown.

Please Go Sanjaya!

After another embarassing performance last night, I said aloud…”I really hope he goes this week”. Well, you would’ve thought I said the cat died. My son had instant tears in his eyes. “WHY MOM??? He’s the best!” he said. Oh, now I get it. The kids are casting the votes. My 7 and 5-year olds are Sanjaya fans. Someone’s got to be, I guess.

Here’s hoping Phil or Lakisha or anyone else doesn’t get let go too early because of this strange Sanjaya phenomenon.

This isn’t exactly news, but…

…I only started my blog this week and I didn’t want anyone to miss out on the Alanis My Humps video. It’s just sooo funny. I’ve always loved Alanis, but I like her even more when we get to see her sense of humour…
