Where have I been?

The first thing they would teach you in blogging 101 is if you’re going to write a blog, you have to do it consistently. It’s been over a month since I posted and I thought I should tell you why.

My dad, Sunny passed away from cancer on April 8th. From the day he was diagnosed to the day he died was about six weeks. He was just 71 and so full of life. His wife, 6 kids, 10 grandkids and many other friends and family were able to say goodbye. His last 10 days of life were actually quite magical…lots of stories and lots of laughs.

It’s such a life-altering event. I’m doing ok though, and I do believe this stuff makes us stronger, better people. I just need some time to get my life back on track again, so I will continue my break from blogging for a bit longer.

Thanks for stopping by…and please check back soon:)

    Dear Susan,

I am a regular listener and have always enjoyed you on the radio. It was only afew months ago that my brother Steve told me that you were Sue Zimmerman-from Vernon. I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Yes! I remember Sunny, as we lived on the cul de sac beside you in Vernon(Chelsea Court). I used to hang/go out with Darrell (how’s the sax Zimy?). Your dad was hilarious when he was trying to convince my mom (with his Parent Effectivness Training course) in how to let her 16 year old daughter date an older boy(your brother). I skipped alot of school only to hang at the raquetball center and I also worked at the Bay with your mom Julia. Anyways…Hope you smile when you read this, your dad was a character eh? take care Leah

So sorry to hear of your loss. I’m sure your dad and your family are all much better now that dad is in a better place. I am sending this as it will be my turn soon at an early 54 yrs. with term lung. Although I am sad , I am accepting and never want my children to feel responsible or guilty for my disease. The music at your station soothes me a lot. Thank you.
May peace be with you all.
    Avid listener,
    Michael
