Yeah, you can have one of those plates for 35 bucks, then you have to pay 25 bucks per year after that to keep it. And then, after the olympics are over, you have to give it back. Or just keep it, because you can't use them any more.

Well, to me the idea of the "Olympics" is nothing more than a business deal, and truly hasn't got alot to do with sports at all, thus my humble being of having a negative attitude to the Olympics is justified.

The media of course has jumped on the bandwagon, as the "Olympics" is quite the cash cow for them, with regard to work (jounalists covering them) and of course all the advertising $$ that will be available.
It's the poor old average taxpayer that will be getting the shaft regarding the Olympics, in that we will be paying for them for years to come (just ask previous Olympic cities) with our tax dollars, yet we will be the last allowed to view them on site. It will be the Politicians that will take the credit for getting them to Vancouver, yet in the background I believe it was "Big Business" that did all the background work, thus multi-millionaires will become even larger millionaires.
Can you just imagine, the many Billions of dollars spent, for a 17 day event?
Oh, of course, the Paralympic's are thrown in to help sell the "Olympics" in general in my opinion, yet they are probably more deserved regarding "satisfaction" to those that win. "Winning" now, that in itself is a statement of our times, where one has to "win" to be the important one...chosen to participate! What does that tell us of the world we live in?
How many folks that lose do you see on the front pages of our magazines or newspapers?

All in all, ICBC can keep their licence plates, as they overcharge me annually for the insurance on my vehicle as it is.

Everyone have a wonderful day!
