No Canada?
My sons had their opening day of baseball on the weekend. This is a big deal for the kids. All the teams are introduced and paraded out onto the field. A young woman with a lovely, sweet voice took to the microphone to sing our national anthem.
Some of the kids started to sing along…it was beautiful…until the whispers of shhhhh through the crowd. SHHHHH? To Oh Canada? Should we not be encouraging our kids to sing out proudly? To partake in the celebration? To show their patriotism?

I think it’s too bad that the kids got shhhh’d. Most kids are getting so worried about what their friends will think…..that they forget just to act naturally…I would have loved hearing it and I personally will continue to sing out proudly for my country at the next Whitecaps game I attend…and if I get shhhhh, I’ll sing louder.
