We try to make it a big family gathering, but that doesn't always work. And yes we all remember the green jello with cream cheese in it and it still gets made a put out by ma.

Good luck with the tickets?

Scalpers use automated high speed ordering systems. A hundred or more virtual machines running in parallel with automated ordering systems. There is even software there to read the "human only" readable code.

They overload the Ticketmaster system by their incredible volume of efforts.

I've got a better chance of tickets through Jack than buying on line. No joy on winning anything yet but it is just a matter of a little time and a little luck.

Talking turkey... I don't know. It might wind up being something greasy (KFC) because I really don't know how to cook a turkey.

Not sure if I'm doing Thanksgiving this year - my youngest son, who is getting married in November is having his stag on Saturday night. I usually have the dinner on Sunday - but I'm thinking 1) I'll have to do all the prep myself, 2) Three hung over men, 3) do they really want turkey, or will they want something greasy 4) I'll have to do the clean-up myself after they go to bed again.......... hmmmm ......... maybe I'll find something to do! Going out for dinner with Mom on Monday- so maybe I'll postpone my dinner for a week!

Going out to my dad's. He cooks. When my parents were married he never cooked. When they split he had to learn and got pretty good at it! He wasn't gonna have dinner this year since his wife and her family usually put on a big to-do which I never go to. But because the wife has to work the weekend...well yay me! My sis is coming up from Port Dover with her boyfriend. I don't see her as much as I'd like so that'll be sweet!

I feel for you gentleman friend. I experienced the same situation 3 yrs ago when my Beagle, Levi died. he was only 8 and died of heart failure which took almost a year to bring him to his demise. I cried, I sobbed and also swore that I would not have another dog.
He left me with great memories - ones of frustration and ones of bragging rights. Being a beagle, he was smart and his nose lead the way. He could open the sliding door and the front screen door and couldn't keep in a kennel because he learned how to open that too. Everyone in the neighborhood knew him - they had him at Food Basics one time and at Shopper's - he must have thought automatic doors were great! One time when he was age 2 and we were visiting my mom's up north, he took off - again. We found him at the dog catcher's - small town, no animal aid. Two weeks later, I received a letter from the town policy addressed to "Levi's Canine". In the envelope was a picture of Levi on a table, with the old criminal plaque held around his neck. On the back was stamped: Name - Levi; Alias - canine; Particulars - four legs; Charge - loitering. It made a great Show-and-tell piece for my boys.
As I said, I swore I would not get another as Levi was soooo much work but.....we now have Strauss, also a beagle, bagel as I call him, and I couldn't be happier. He is not as smart as Levi, but Strauss makes me laugh more. He will nibble on the tips of my socks (on my feet), like he's biting flees, pull the socks off and then proceed to make me chase him. By then time I get the sock back, there are holes in them.
People at the dog park love Strauss, he's an instigator and they love when he barks/howls.
I have never regretted the decision to bring Strauss into our family!!

Louie may have the core of a great idea...

The "You don't know Jack about golf" tournament...

Enter a contest (draw) for three dingos to each Jack celeb and fly them out for a golf tournament (Florida? Vegas?) and the winning team of the tournament (low NET score, don't give away the handicap) gets something extra - tickets for the concert at the end of the day.

Sure... fly out the souse ...er ... spouse as well so they can do something else during the tournament and share the concert at the end if on the winning team.

Yea, they could golf, but I'm reminded of the story of the lone golfer. He takes a shot, drops a ball and kicks it ahead of himself step by step to get to his ball, takes the next shot and then kicks the ball. The greenskeeper asks "Whatcha doin?"

"Practicing for golfing with my wife."

Hey Sam, you should create a Jack golf tournament. First prize could be something like a trip to a concert of our choice anywhere in he world. And if we score a hole in one, we could get a million Jack Nation points. Set something up for the spring, Sam. We know you can do it!

I hate fall! All the leaves falling and red's and yellow's and browns. Ugh! Smell of fireplaces? Meh! My dad has one but he also has central air. He told me why he has one. For the same reason why I like them. They turn up the heat! If you catch my drift. ;-)

I hate winter! But being a Canucker I like the snow for X-Mas and then I want a good rain to make it all go away!

I love late Spring and I loooooooooove summer!!!
