The change in weather finds me thinking, I should do a little fall shoe/coat/hat/pants/gloves/belt shopping…I managed to score a pair of golf shoes yesterday for 50$.  Pretty good steal of a deal.  End of season sale…..a little shopping justification…..

If you missed the sexy bingo number on Friday it was n32.  It’s even a real bingo number…..thanks, Linda….I usually guess and then I email Linda to doublecheck.

The code this weekend from the radio countdown was LA…as in, Jeff and Carly’s Who By Numbers contest.  Next shot at tix is Monday am.  8:18ish is when the next seat number will be given out.  They also have an announcement Monday morning at 7am that will be of concern to people who really like rock…..

This exchange makes me laugh my ass off. My girlfriend, Christina, emailed me yesterday. She was super angry at her husband….we’ll call him ‘Chump’, (for the sake of privacy)….which tends to happen from time to time. Here’s part of the email she sent:

Sure. I can bitch about my husband…

Here’s the scenario…

Christina: Honey I’m going to meet a friend after work for Sushi.

Chump: Well… The bathrooms need to be cleaned…

Brrrr…..just getting warmed up now.  Okay, it wasn’t that bad.  If it were April and we were getting these kind of temps, we’d be tickled.  It’s all relative I suppose. 

I rode the motorcycle in to work this morning….a little chilly.  Usually, I have this little contest with myself to try and never let my feet touch the pavement while on my bike.  Today though, I was pretty happy to hit a red light or two on the way in so I could warm a little.  Use ‘chilly’ for some extra Jack Nation points.

Getting lots of email about ‘The Who By Numbers’ contest.  Jeff and Carly give the code out at 8:18 (ish) weekday mornings.  That’s the only time the code is given out.  Sometimes they will do it once more before 9…..but, that’s it.  If you’re in transit at this point and can’t hear the station, you’ll have to get a friend or family member to listen for you.  That’s the best advice I can offer.  Good Luck!!

AC/DC’s coming to Toronto!!!!  They’ll play the Rogers Centre (boo) November 7th.  Tickets are not available yet….the week of Sept 20th is when we’ll have that information.  Here’s hoping another date or two gets booked around the 7th.  So far, we’re the only Canadian date.

Have you noticed how early it’s getting dark out?  Last night, I noticed at 8pm it was totally dark out…not even certain when it happened.  Just another one of those reminders that fall is knocking on our doorstep.  Sunset tonight…..7:39pm……wow….looks though, like today may turn out to be a nice one.  Some sun and 20 degrees is forecasted.  At some point last night, the power was out…..which, as you know means you have to reset your alarm…..which means  the dreaded night time math….that’s the part where you start adding up, how much time do ‘I have left before the alarm goes off’?….how many times can I hit snooze before I REALLY have to get up?

So, it began this morning with Jeff and Carly.  They gave out the seat number at 8:18…..it’s only given out once a day.  I’m not allowed to give it out after that….or I would.  You may have to get a friend or family member to listen if you are in transit at that time of the day….

 How was your weekend?  I attempted to sleep in Saturday morning….at 7:20, I heard a giant ‘bang’….you know what a broom sounds like when it falls over and slams on the kitchen floor…..that’s what I figured it was.  When I got up, I couldn’t find the source of the noise.  Continued with my am routine, which includes making coffee….the coffee is kept in the freezer.  Opened the freezer door….and found the noise…..looked like a slurpee machine barfed in the freezer….Turns out, some moron (me) left three cans of diet coke in the freezer Friday night…..we were heading over to the neighbours and I was chilling some pop to take.  Yeah….a big ole duh…I forgot about the pop.

I was told once that when a woman does something drastic with her hair, or appearance that she is doing a ‘psychological cleanse’….or preparing for a change in life direction.  I think there’s a lot of truth to that.  We’re lucky as women that we can do that.  Guys, my question is for you.  What do you do when you are ready to start anew?  Grow a goatee?  Get a tat?  Join a gym?  Rebuild or build something? 

 I have a hair appt tomorrow and am sitting on the fence of a drastic change….ah, maybe I’ll just grow a goatee;)

It’s already the weekend…..I could get used to this short work week thing…..

I’m going up to visit the guys at Kahuna Motorsports later today…just to do a little lookin’:)  It’s a pretty nice shop and it’s that time of year to start scoring deals on gear and bikes.  Before you know it, it’ll be time to drag the sleds out.  If you’re a fan of sleds, did you see that we have tix for the snowmobile show online here?  For some it may seem soon, for fans of wintery stuff, not soon enough.

Enough snow talk:)  How do you like the new site design?  I like it.  It’s less cluttered and easy to navigate.

Make sure you are listening to Jeff and Carly Monday morning at 8:18….they’ll give out a seat number which could send you to see The Who in LA with us!!!  We’re taking a whole plane of folks….I’m going too, it’ll be a hoot!  I told Brown that I was going to get a bottle holster for the flight, so I can offer tequila poppers!!

If you’ve made it this far, you are likely aware that Jeff Chalmers and Larry Silver were let go this morning.

Jeff and Carly will do mornings from here on…..and afternoons……a big ole split shift.  Look at it this way, how many times have you asked yourself, “how can those radio people only manage to have to work 4 hours in a day”?  Now, Jeff and Carly will be working a full day!! 

I’m staying in the mid day slot and Mike Tyler will be doing evenings and weekends.  

I also realize that many of you LOVED Chalmers’ photo blog.  For two reasons, you obviously enjoy a challenge and you like the extra points.  In his absence, I will endeavour to update this blog more often, so you have a reason to visit.  I’m not promising pics…..Jeff is a photographer and carried a camera daily……but, we will at least get you points so you can hopefully score something cool from the site.

How many times today have you heard the words ‘back to school, first day of school’…..an overstatement of the obvious…..and over and over….the media just pounds some things don’t they - us…..we’ll endeavor to be less annoying than other stations…..

 Do you recall what a big deal it was to have a cool lunch box?  Now, it’s a nylon cooler baggie thing.  Not the same cool factor as say, Carly’s lunch box…..Dukes of Hazzard…..that’s a cool lunch box.  Mine had a big buck toothed cartoon beaver on it.  Not sure who it was supposed to be.  I liked it all the same….check out this website….

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has suspended the liquor licence of The Molson Amphitheatre for the period beginning on August 28, 2008 at 11:00am until 2:00am on August 29, 2008.  This will affect the Crue Fest show at the Amphitheatre on August 28.

This licence suspension will prevent any alcohol from being served at the Amphitheatre on this date. 

The license has been suspended as a result of infractions taking place during the 2007 Concert Season.
