Although as a young lad, many a song was mis-understood by me, the one that sticks out the most was the song I would sing as "Sad Sack loves that Rock and Roll". I never figured out why all the grown-ups would laugh when i would sing that. After all Sad Sack was a popular comic at the time.
It was a few months later when I realized that Ian Dury was NOT singing about a comic but was saying "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll". Live and learn.

That's funny, I love stuff like that. When I was a kid, after hearing Benny & the Jets, I asked my mum "what's electric boobs?"...I think she did a spit-take. lol...

My friend Kathy was at a Raptor's game, and when the other team had possession of the ball, the crowd does their usual shout out. And she starts clapping, saying "Ethan, Ethan, Ethan", then leans over and asked who she was with "who's Ethan", they said, "no Kathy, it's DEFENCE". I think I did a spit-take, lol...

I always love hearing people's "version's of". Hilarious. Thanks for the laff Sam!
