I never figured out why all the grown-ups would laugh when i would sing that. After all Sad Sack was a popular comic at the time. It was a few months later when I realized that Ian Dury was NOT singing about a comic but was saying "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll". Live and learn. When I was a kid, after hearing Benny & the Jets, I asked my mum "what's electric boobs?"...I think she did a spit-take. lol... My friend Kathy was at a Raptor's game, and when the other team had possession of the ball, the crowd does their usual shout out. And she starts clapping, saying "Ethan, Ethan, Ethan", then leans over and asked who she was with "who's Ethan", they said, "no Kathy, it's DEFENCE". I think I did a spit-take, lol...
