Yesterday say Mother’s Day come and go…..made me think of a tv show that was on during the 80’s….Just Like Mom…have you seen it? The Bake-off was the best part. The kids, 4 contestants, had to try to follow a recipe….I say try to follow loosely. The show also provided ingredients that you would never want to see added to baking, mustard, ketchup and the like. Just enough to make things really gross. The Mom’s had to sample the baking and guess which belonged to their offspring. Most times the kids figured the grosser, the better…..I loved watching the Mom’s sample all that ick:) Here’s a little clip I found on Youtube:

I remember this show - boy do I feel old. BTW stopped by the Rogers store at Sherway on Saturday, but you were busy speaking with a gentlemen, didn’t want to interupt. You’re much prettier in person than on TV.
Hope next time you’re out in my neck of the woods we can chat for a minute or two.

That’s hilarious Sam, why is it everything a child cooks/bakes/makes ends up looking like something the dog yacked up? But god love them, they do swell up with pride. I remember my friend Shelley damn near killing me with some concotion she made back in the day when we were teens. Her folks were away, I stayed at her place and by the end of the weekend, her cooking literally had me crawling up the stairs. And there was no 9-1-1, so any emergency response teams wouldn’t have made it on time…
I missed the televised version of the Countdown on the weekend, rascally rabbits shifted it to noon. Missed it completely!

Samantha just a couple of weeks ago I was flipping channels on the TV.
Could not believe my eyes when they were showing “Just like Mom” Can’t remember what channel(digital) it was on. What memories, used to always watch it with my kids.

I was on that show back in ‘81.
My mom and I got all of the questions right but we ‘cheated’ on the bake off.
We had agreed in advance that I would follow the recipe perfectly except for one extra ingredient, pickles!
I took an entire jar of gherkins and dumped them into the final product.
We would have won the game even if we had missed the bake off because the other 2 contestants were out to lunch.
The fridge that we won is still in our family cottage!
