Top 5 lists….
I’m compiling a list of ‘Top 5 Drinking Songs’ for the Jack Nation Countdown….what songs should we include? I’ll send it over to the tv folks when I get it all together. It will be part of the tv countdown this weekend. That one runs on CITY TV and the time slot is Saturday afternoon at 4pm. They’ve changed it from last week, it was 1pm.
Jimmy Buffett - Margaritaville
Kiss - Cold Gin
UB40 - Red Red Wine
What else should we include?
Thanks,
Sam

ok, don’t laugh when I say this but every St Paddy’s day someone starts singing Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and by the end of it everyone is raising their glasses, got your arm around a complete stranger with a drink in the other hand belting out the tune…it is a good drinking song.

Hi Samantha,
One of my fav songs about drinking is an old tune “Here’s to the Horses” by The Rovers (oka The Irish Rovers (yeah, I’m dating myself)). A song that sings tributes to the Budwiser Clydesdales can’t be all bad.

gotta have “Home for a Rest” by Spirit of the West.. the ONLY way to dance to that song is completely hammered… that’s the only way you can jump for the entire song and not realize how goofy you look
I also find that Rock Lobster by the B-52s is a good drinking song..not sure why. Oh yeah, and also, Wasn’t That a Party by the Irish Rovers

HAPPY FRIDAY!
February 22nd, 2008 at 1:09 pm
Some have said “Home for a Rest” but for those of us who remember, (and a few do), the Ultimate drinking song is “Wasn’t That a Party” . Not sure who sang it but we use to check off the things we did as the song progressed. Never quite made it to the Police car on the front lawn part but talked to many a cat under the kitchen table. We use to sing “three or four 24s” instead of six-packs. It was such fun.
