Hey Samantha, here is a movie that should definitely be on the Top 5 list of all time great Rock movies…STILL CRAZY.
It deals with a 70’s rock group, Strange Fruit, who reunite after 20 years to give it one more
attempt to recapture their fame and fortune. It will definitely make you laugh, cry and sing along to the great music.
Before I go I must say, you are most likely one the best dj’s I have ever heard on the radio…and the sexiest! Keep up the great work.
Stephen.

Go Greased Lightnin’
Your coasting through the heat lap trial
Greased Lightnin’ Go Greased Lightnin’
Your supreme
The chicks’ll scream
For Greased Lightnin’
I can just picture the crew from Jack dancin’ and singin.’ Oh yeah. LOL.

How about that Kiss Movie that came out in the late 70’s or early 80’s?
L : )
February 5th, 2008 at 7:47 am
Rock and Roll High School with the Ramones or I liked Dazed and Confused. The timeline for Dazed and confused would be when I was a senior in highschool (late 70’s). Would Pinball Wizzard be considered a Rock Movie ? Quadraphenia. The dreaded Phantom of the Opera in the 70’s with Paul Williams(this is possibly one of the worst movies ever).

HEAVY METAL (animated, vioce of John Candy And other second city alumni)
February 5th, 2008 at 8:08 am
Almost Famous is my all time favourite movie. Rockstar is a close second. Although this one is a documentary it really belongs in the top five - Metal: A Headbangers Journey. Best of all, its made by a Canadian!
February 5th, 2008 at 8:27 am
Don’t forget GIMMIE SHELTER or even WOODSTOCK
February 5th, 2008 at 8:50 am
What about The Committments?

Help & Yellow Submarine
February 5th, 2008 at 11:45 am
What about the “Rocky Horror Picture Show”?
February 5th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
“Still Crazy” starring Stephen Rea, Billy Connolly and Brian Gibson.
February 5th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Isn’t “Purple Rain” and “Rock movies” a bit of an oxymoron? I don’t think it makes the grade to be on the list any more than a Hillary Duff or Hanna Montanna movie. I think the criteria should be music that you would play on JACK.
February 5th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
Detroit Rock City!
February 5th, 2008 at 1:02 pm
the committments?
February 5th, 2008 at 1:02 pm
oh man I don’t see the Commitments on that list. The commitments should be right up there, or how bout Detroit Rock city with KISS and Rock N Roll high school with The Ramones.
February 5th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
The Doors
Sid and Nancy
A Hard Days Night
Rockstar
Dazed and Confused (kinda)

how about detroit rock city….
February 5th, 2008 at 5:43 pm
How about Pink Floyd’s The Wall
February 5th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
Fave rock movies? There are soooo many, but offhand add “Tommy” to the list,I mean who doesn’t like The Who. “he Commitments” gets a surprising 2 thumbs up from me, and for the soundtrack alone I would have to add “Eddie and the Cruisers” to the list(showing my age I guess LOL)
February 5th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
The best five rock movies must have a soundtrack that stands the test of time. So it’s obvious the fab five are:
Heavy Metal
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Tommy
The Song Remains the Same
and Floyd’s The Wall
Of course the other fab five are;
Help
Magical Mystery Tour
A Hard Days’ Night
Yellow Submarine
and All You Need Is Cash (the first Rutles movie)
I haven’t seen the second Rutles movie, “Can’t Buy Me Lunch”, still, I’d love to hear any Beatles and Rutles combos on Jack, eh!
February 5th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
First place definitely goes to “The Rose” and she also should have won the Academy Award that year for it. She got robbed!!
I know this is not a ROCK movie, but I think the best musical EVER was Barbra Streisand’s “Funny Girl”. Besides the awesome music, you’ll shed a lot of tears.
“Star is Born” was a rock movie and one heck of a GREAT movie again with Streisand and Kristofferson.
