I now know what to get ’the Dad’ for his birthday.  My Dad is one of those folks who is difficult to buy for.  He’s at the point in his life that anything he wants, I can’t afford and he just buys it anyway….until now…..check out the link above and come back….

 Is that not the coolest invention ever?  You could visit the neighbours, take it to festivals, games…..I love it.  The Dad would too.  I’ll have to take a photo of his riding lawn mower for you.  This invention would be near and dear to his heart……He’s built and attached his own cup holders (beer holder) for the Kabota, his tractor that gets used for everything….snow, cutting the lawn et al….It’s pretty funny…..

I can’t believe it’s nearing the end of January already….where did the month go?  Have you noticed - on the days that we have sun - that it’s staying light out a little longer?  I’m really reaching here aren’t I?  I am though, sooo looking forward to warmer weather.  Enough, that I’ve been thinking about heading somewhere south….just to break it up a bit…..

Some friends are in from Ottawa this weekend.  There’s a giant Rogers sales conference this weekend in downtown Toronto.  Sales people from our company, from all across the country….we tend to refer to them as ‘weasels, or sales-weasels’ in our industry.  So, step with caution if you are in the downtown core, you may step in weasel crap…..just kidding guys;)

The Jack Nation Countdown is good to go.  I’ll post the countdown code on here tomorrow (Sat) at some point……..in case you don’t hear the countdown throughout the weekend.  We decided since the 25th is Robbie Burns day, we’d celebrate some things native to Scotland, so check out the countdown for music and more.

Soooo, we have a television show starting Saturday, February the 3rd on City TV.  It’s the video version of the Jack Nation Countdown that runs here at Jack on the weekends.  It will be on at 1pm in the afternoon.  They’re going to ‘re-roll’ it on Sunday too.  I’ll put all the ‘official stuff’ on here next week.  We’ll send out an email too with all the info.

I’m really excited about it.  I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.  I’d like your input for some things too.  I was thinking that we’d do some shows with ‘celebrities’ from our area….we’ll have them pick a favorite new band or song (since the countdown is all new rock)…who would you like to see and hear from?

Some smart fella has figured out an equation that rates January 21st as the most depressing day of the year.  It’s a combination of weather, post-holiday bills, post-holiday blues, failed resolutions and whatever else you can think of that sucks…..I can’t say I agree….Rob Zombie and Ozzy are at the ACC tonight….I’m really looking forward to the show.  I’ve seen Ozzy and like him, but, am a bigger Rob Zombie fan….the only prob…..it’s a school night.  That part sucks.  No matter how hard I try, I’ll be out later than I should and drink more than I should…..which will make for stellar radio tomorrow……I’m certain….plus, I’ll likely sound like a dude after all the screaming that will go on at the show….tune in for all the bad tomorrow:)

 Thanks for all of your comments with the last blog entry….all the cereal stories.  Except for Drew Peacock….say that name out loud.  Try it one more time.  Haha.  That’s almost as good as Dawn Keelbals.  Know any?  Other than I.P. Freely?  It’s a silly game, but, fun…..my buddy Dan is the master….or, should I say Drew Peacock….add to the list if you like…send it to the comments section.  I’ll post’em….provided they’re not too dirty:)

 Tomorrow it’s a ‘Tuesday Ticket Blowout’….Mellencamp tickets every hour for Jack Nation members.  We start that at 9am and continue thru till 6pm. 

 Check out the ‘galleries’ section of our site.  We had Finger Eleven and Seether in for a visit this past Friday.  We were taping the interviews for a tv show that I’m working on….myself and Andrew ‘3rd Degree’ Burns…..more to come on that in the very near future….looking forward to it.

Saturday mornings used to be the sh%t…they still are, for the sleep though, not the cartoons….and, the prize in the bottom of the cereal box….remember what a big deal that was??  It seemed all my friend’s parents would buy the ‘good’ cereal…..we weren’t allowed to have anything with more sugar than Corn Pops…..puffed wheat (lame)…..Shreddies (boring)….Raisin Bran (Bran for kids??)

My sis and I used to take turns with the prizes.  Well, not really, we were SUPPOSED to, but, I was the bigger, older sis, what I said went…..sorry Kath.  I’ll buy you some silly putty or something to make it up to you:)  Wasn’t the begging in the cereal aisle the worst???  The placement of the kid fave’s cereal is at exactly the perfect eye-catching height for kids…..smart marketers….

My fave though, were the ‘vareity packs’ that were sold in 8’s….remember those??  they were the best….Fruit Loops (which were never allowed)….Frosted Flakes (weee)…….I still to this day have never had Count Chocula or Booberry, Frankenberry or Cpt Crunch….yeah, I know, weak:)

Friday’s almost here.  One more sleep….this week seems to have passed pretty quickly.  I’m good with that.  It’s just been a busy one, busy in a good way.  We’ve got some pretty cool stuff on the go here at Jack.  I’m not sure if I’m allowed to tell you just yet, but, I can give you a few hints, right?  Okay, it involves the Jack Nation Countdown, music videos, bands, interviews and me.  There.  You figure out the rest.  When I have all the details, I’ll share them with you.  It’s coming soon and I’m pretty excited about it…..

We’ve got Seether and Finger Eleven stopping by tomorrow afternoon for a visit.  The guys are playing tonight and tomorrow night at the Koolhaus.  We’ll record the interviews and get it set up so you can see them too.  Jeff Brown may get a chance to bring them on live during his show….depends on the band and their time availablity.

Ozzy and Rob Zombie Monday night…..I’m hoping it’ll be a great show.  I’ve seen Ozzy and liked him, but, love Rob Zombie’s stuff.  We’ll feature some of his stuff on the Jack Nation Countdown this weekend….

Time to get outta here and get this ‘keg-sized’ ass to the gym!!
