 I want to say hello to all of our visitors from the Fan 590!  Seems we here at Jack have a little pissing contest with the boys & girls  over at the Fan 590.  It’s all friendly…..sorta….and it’s all about these ‘blogs’.  See, they’ve created a contest within the building here at 333 Bloor…..or should I say rivalry….now, it’s no Leafs vs Sens, but I see things headed in that direction.  The contest is all about the number of visitors that we have to these pages….Farraway and Howard are worried that we’re going to smoke them with our numbers.  That’s started already….so thanks to our Jack Nation members, and, for our Fan visitors, check out the ‘Draws and Auction’ section on this site.  You’ll see why we have so many Jack Nation members.  Feel free to join.  Our prizes are pretty cool and easy to get….AND…..You can check out the rest of our blogs too…..go back to the one entitled ‘The Gales of November Blow Early’ to see a hot motorcycle….it’s my bike with my nephew and his fave Aunt’s toy.

I can’t seem to shake this cold.  I seldom get sick, but, this one’s a ‘hanger on’.  The sucky part is, I’m at work.  I feel fine, but, I’m sure I’m passing my cold around……crap…..I’m ‘that guy’ now……this morning as I was leaving for work I reached in the pocket of the jacket I was wearing Friday night…..in that pocket, I expected to find a cough drop.  I did, and, a beer cap…..hmm….maybe shaking the cold has more to do with the late nights and beer with friends than it does anything else…..tsk, tsk, tsk…..off to see the doc this aft….

Are you going to get a flu shot this year?  I always connect the flu shot thought with ‘older people’…..Each year at this time, I think, ‘well, do I need one….isn’t that for older people’?  And each year, I get a little closer to really needing one:)  Our company, Rogers, does a flu clinic to care after all of us here in the building.  I wonder if Ted comes downstairs to get his shot with the rest of us…. 

This past weekend I went to Jamie Kennedy’s wine bar….great food…..great wine….great atmosphere.  If you’re into tapas et al, you’d dig it.

My Environment Canada forecast has flurries listed for this evening…..sigh……I miss my bike already.

We had a John Mellencamp concert announcement this morning.  John Mellencamp with special guests Tom Cochrane and Red Rider.  The show is February 6, 2008 at the Air Canada Centre.  Tickets go on sale this Friday at noon through ticketmaster.  The prices are reasonable.  The top end ticket is $150.00, prices range all the way down to $39.50.  We will endeavour to hook you up through Jack Nation as well for tix.  On that note, here’s the Tuesday Points Blowout codes:

Here’s a couple more pics of inside the halls here at Jack.  It’s quite the organization….CHFI, The Fan 590 and 680 News are all in the same building with us.  Makes for a lot of crazy on one office floor…..good crazy though:)   

Ahhh….an extra hour of sleep on Sunday…..very nice….well, if you don’t have kids or pets who demand to be fed on a schedule….

 Last week was the first run of a new show here, The Jack Nation Countdown.  It’s the 20 hottest songs on the planet…lots of great new stuff from bands like Against Me, Three Days Grace, Ozzy, Kid Rock….it’s a pretty hot countdown, we’ve included a bonus code in the show for you.  It’s worth 1000 Jack Nation points.  It runs Saturday morning at 8am and then we do a re-roll Sunday night at 6pm.

The gales of November were blowing early….yesterday, I was on the 401 on my motorcycle and it was all I could do to hang on.  I have to admit……that is kind of a fun ride:)  It did get a little chilly on the scooter.  It’s time for me to wrap a blanket around my bike and tuck it in for the winter.  I’m a fairweather rider.  I usually don’t climb on if it’s less than 15 degrees out.  That wasn’t the case when I first began riding though….I recall having to go home and have a bath to warm up because I’d been out for so long in the cold…..just like a kid…..here’s a pic of the next generation in my family who will also be ‘all’ about bikes…..
