Soooo, Jeff Brown’s blog from two days ago has him in a little crap from myself and Carly.  Go read his entry on the ‘Hallowe’en Costumes’.  He said that Carly and I would both dress as the ‘Red Devil Woman’….what a smartass…..let’s use that word as a bonus code….smartass……I would never wear the Red Devil outfit….but, I did go as a Sexy Cop once.  I handed out infractions.  I’m surprised I didn’t get my ass kicked.  As the night went on and the drinks kept being poured, I thought I was getting funnier with my tickets.

As I write this, I’m aware that our website seems to be inaccessible for some reason or another.  A ghost in the machine?  Gremlins? Is it the sheer volume of traffic from hits for the Zep codes?  I suspect that may be the case.  It’s kind of ridiculous how connected we’ve become - electronically - that is.  It’s likely that way for you as well…with the Internet et al….things come to a halt here when we have zero access online.  My sis and I teased the Dad for a long time.  Technologically, my Dad is a caveman.  He thinks there are gremlins in the back of the ATM.  Like there’s actually a guy in there who will snag your dough as you try to make a deposit.  Funny visual….he looks like this to me….check out the male camel toe….hilarious

Did you know it’s Texas Week in Canada?  Yeah, really…..I’m going to an odd media thing tonight.  A dear friend of mine works for Country 95.3 here in town.  We often attend events with one another.  Sometimes the stuff we wind up doing can be fantastic fun or a little weird…..like say Van Halen for the former, or, racing school buses for the latter….really, that was an offer….anyway, tonight we strap on the cowboy boots and the 10 gallon hats….it’s a tourism reception thingamahoo.  Could be fun.  I love Texas - parts of it - bought my first pair of cowboy boots in Lubbock TX a loooooonnng time ago.  My boots have duct tape holding them together - for real - maybe I’ll leave those out of this evening.

Went to Springsteen last night.  Great show…..depending who you ask.  Hearing mixed reviews, but, from my seat it was pretty great.  4 out of 5 Courtney Cox’s.  ha.  Carly was my date and we had a pretty terrific time….except for the whole school night thing.  Makes going to work difficult the day after.  As I looked out over the audience last night, I wondered ’how many people in this building have jobs that the lack of sleep/combo of alcohol will make them dangerous tomorrow’?  Imagine your dentist with a nasty hangover….or your pilot….one of the girls here at the office is married to a pilot who was at the show last night.  He was flying today - but - he has a first officer to defer to.  I’d like to order a first officer if the boss is reading this. 

I’m out.  Off to the gym…..going to try to run the hangover away.  Prepare to read this headline tomorrow “Local Radio Personality Snaps Femur on Treadmill’.  Should be awesome.

 I hope you had a great weekend….I’m a little wiped from mine.  The wheels fell off the bus over the weekend, so to speak…but, it was a fun bus.  Went to see Van Halen Friday night - terrific - out for dinner on Sat to a little Italian place in Streetsville - terrific - and some time with the fam on Sunday. 

I came across something kinda cool during my Sunday.  A couple journals that belonged to my Grandma……her notes were all matter-of-fact things.  She wrote something every day.  Just ‘we went here, did this, the weather’.  Kinda neat to see a glimpse into her life like that.  She died when I was nine, so it’s cool to read it as an adult….but get this…..in the back of one of the journals, she had written, ”if I had to do it all over again”, and nothing else.  Carpe Diem.  Or Carp in Denim, whatever works for ya. 

Tomorrow we’re doing a ‘Tuesday Ticket Blowout’.  It’s for tickets to see The Police.  It’ll be the same routine as the previous blowouts, codes every hour.  The codes will be good until midnight.  We’ll post the winners Wednesday morning before 10am on the site. I’ll put the codes I have on here when I’m off the air tomorrow.

Did you vote yesterday?  I hope you did.  I’m convinced that the media really does sway the outcome of an election….all the advance projections and opinion polls are kind of dangerous.  I think many undecided people use the opinion polls as a gauge of how they should vote.  Yesterday’s election had the lowest voter turnout since 1927…..wow…..well, Dalton has your ass for another four years. 

Wow….already Thursday.  I could get used to this four day work week thing.  The Islanders are in town to play the Leafs tonight….hoping for a win….tomorrow night Van Halen is back at the ACC for a second show.  OH….Van Halen rumour…..private show forthcoming in Toronto.  That’s a pretty cool rumour eh? Well, as long as the private show is at my place….yeah, I know, dream it.

 Did you hear the ‘drunk dial’ on Jeff and Carly’s page?  Jeff is a big Leaf fan and was drunk dialing during a Leaf/Sens game to the boys in Ottawa at CHEZ 106.  CHEZ is one of our brother stations….it’s pretty funny.  btw, Happy Birthday to CHEZ 106.  They are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year.

 Okay, 30’s good, but, how about 50?  CHFI is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year….now THAT is heritage.  CHFI is having an anniversary party tonight.  A friend and I are going to attend.  How about this for a scenario….getting drunk, starting a fight at the CHFI cocktail party.  OR….dressing up as Mike and Erin, getting drunk, then starting a fight.  Ah, I never would.  They really are as nice as you would imagine.  For some folks in this industry, it’s a giant act….not those two.

I hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving weekend….straight to the gym after work….mooo….went to Van Halen on Sunday night.  We parked out front in the ‘Preferred Camaro Parking’ section….nah, kidding….I don’t think there were too many camaros there….just lots of us who used to own them.  Lots of folks who used to have ‘hair’ too, the extra long variety…and a few who shouldn’t still have theirs…even David Lee Roth and Eddie have cut theirs off…..What a great show, though.  Congrats to everyone who won tickets through Jack Nation.  I hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did.  If you’re going to the Friday show, go early for a little people watching….know what’s kind of amusing?  Remember when going to a rock show meant all sorts of smells, along with all the great sights??  Well, ‘that’ particular smell is now tobacco smoke….not other sorts.  Kinda funny how things have turned around….sneaking a butt during the show.  I found it kinda funny that tobacco is now the ‘illegal’ substance. 

 All in all a great weekend.  Did you have to turn the air conditioner on this weekend?  Wild.  Seems that’s coming to an end later this week.  Seasonal schmeasonal.  Pretty soon I’ll have to get out the sleeping bag and pillow for my motorcycle and tuck it in for another long winter.  Booohisss.  I guess it makes riding that much sweeter in the spring…..
