Mountain FM

Seems like whenever I get tickets for a show, I end up wanting to go to other shows around the same time.  I went to see the Foo Fighters last Sunday and tonight I’m off to see Eddie Vedder kick off his solo acoustic tour in support of the Into the Wild Soundtrack.  As I’ve posted before, Into the Wild is my favorite book of all time and I enjoyed the music in the movie.  Also, being a guy who likes to play guitar, I love going to see acoustic shows. 

In other news…my parental units are coming out for a visit.  I’m obviously excited to see them as it’s been almost a year.  They live in Ontario and have been here once before about 4 years ago so I’m excited to show them around.  A day in Whistler, a weekend in Victoria and whatever else I can think of to keep them busy.  Any suggestions…leave a comment.

Well before we get to the baseball video, the Whistler Paintball weekend with the Adventure Team and Gold Diggers is coming up this weekend.  That should be a lot of fun!  I’ll try to get some pics while dodging some balls of paint.  Paintball will get you extra points in the goldmine until midnight tonight. 
Now, on to baseball, one of the best highlights I’ve ever seen is already out.  I’m a little disappointed that no one will beat this highlight all year…what do you think?

I have a few things this morning as I haven’t blogged in a while so…without further adieu

1) My fav band in the world Foo Fighters performed a few days ago in Toronto and guess who joined them on the stage???? My second favorite band, RUSH!!!! I’m going to see the Foo’s next weekend and Rush in May, but wow!  What a great show that must have been in Toronto.  There are tons of videos showing up on youtube, here is one of them…

2) Today is the day I’ve been waiting for since halloween: half-priced Easter candy!

3) 24 cm’s of new snow in the past 24 hours!  I was talking with some people the other day who asked, “do you think we’re done with snow this year, or will we get another dump?”  Well I think we’re back to a few full days of a lot of snow fall.  Get a good base going for the Telus World Ski and Snowboard festival which is only 3 weeks away now.  Can’t wait!  Check the goldmine for some swag that you can win from the Festival

Something that I was never really into…just on occasion.  A good game would come out and I’d love it for 3 months, then never look at it again.  I either get bored, or can’t get past some boss man and I stop playing.  Therefore I haven’t been prone to buying gaming consoles or games…until now.  Being a fan of ROCK(bonus code) and an avid guitar player, I had to have Guitar Hero, however I’m glad I waited instead of jumping on the Guitar Hero bandwagon when it first came out.  I recently got Rock Band and it ROCKS!!  There is nothing better than having some friends over, a few drinks and setting up Rock Band!  Check out the video below to get an idea of what it’s like at Rob’s house on the weekends…

I’m not much of a beer drinker, so I’m not too excited, however I turned my milk green this morning before I ate it with my Lucky Charms…that’s a fact.  Charms will get you some points for the goldmine, use them wisely. 

Friday March 14th 7:15am!!!!! That’s when this is going down.  I’m not allowed to say much, but whatever…you are a loyal blog reader and I respect that so…I can tell you that this big announcement has to do with Sea to Sky Country and the celebration of music.  ha ha I know that doesn’t help much, but tune in at 7:15 tomorrow and you’ll get all the details…trust me, you DO NOT want to miss this one.

On another note, KT Tunstall is coming to Vancouver and about a year ago I found this video of her performing one of her songs!  It’s very cool how she does this, very unique.

Do you remember Biff from one of my favourite movies, Back to the Future?
   
Well making a few hit movies won’t secure an actor for life, so I guess you have to make some extra cash elsewhere and Biff aka Tom Wilson does that.  Since Back to the Future III, he’s been on stage doing stand up comedy and often making jokes about his times with the cast of BttF.  Check out the video below to see Biff now and a great song about his only good movies.

This blog was set up for me to share stories about life and for you to get more info on things I talk about in the morning…oh and another beacon for you to collect points for the goldmine.   From time to time I will share something I found on the internet, or recently learned or whatever, that is the point of the blog.  Now if you only check out one video on here, at least make it be the one below.  If you are a fan of hockey or generally sports, you’re going to love this clip from last weeks encounter with the Penguins and Capitals.  It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, it’s oh so sweet!!!

I meant to post this yesterday, but I was seriously in need of a nap…which didn’t actually happen, but that’s another story.  So Sunday was Matchbox 20 and it was great!  Mutemath opened for them which is a somewhat weird band from New Orleans, but they were good.  Espicially the lead singer who did a tuck and roll off of his keyboard.  Alanis was next on the bill and she rocked.  Then it was time for Matchbox!!! They played all their hits that you would expect and then some new songs from their latest album.  They do a great cover of Time After Time, however they didn’t play that….I was really kinda looking forward to it.  We got home about 12:30 am, then a quick 3.5 hour nap and then up for work.  I mean to go home yesterday for a nap, but started playing Full Tilt Poker online for a little bit, then I saw a new episode of Cops on tv…no way I could have slept!  If you weren’t at Matchbox, I’ve got a video from the show at GM Place for you to check out.  Enjoy and your code for today is twenty.

Ok I know, it’s been a few days since I’ve made an appearance on the Bloggity Blog and I apologize.  While I was away, I entered a new year of my life, I got Into the Wild and watched it about 18 times and have been eating far too much Cheeseburger Hamburger Helper.  It’s now Friday and time to get back to business.  I have 2 main things to tell you:
#1 - Patrick Swayze is the MAN and I was sad to find out that cancer has entered his body.  He did it for Johnny and I say let’s do it for Swayze.  Go to itunes and purchase his version of “She’s Like the Wind.”  Let’s get him into the Top 10 and pay a little hommage to the ghostly man who likes to spin clay.  CLICK HERE to purchase She’s Like The Wind on iTunes today!

#2 I’m going to see Matchbox Twenty this weekend with the extended family!  I was really into them back in the mid-90’s, but have never seen them live before.  I’m what you call a concert whore and love to get to as many shows as possible.  A few on the horizon include, Foo Fighters, Eddie Vedder, Jason Collett, Radiohead and Rush.  Matchbox does this really cool version of “Time After Time” and I’m hoping they play it this weekend.  Check out the video and put in matchbox to get some points!  Also watch for the newsletter this weekend!!!!
