The new reality show XS4Play was through Squamish this morning and the cast stopped by with their film crew to say hi.  Hear about their adventures and encounters with a ghost below.  Also a candid appearance from the crew of the Millenium Falcon. 

I’m not usually the type of guy who gets too personal on the blog, however I feel as though you and I might be becoming better friends.  I’ve had this blog since February and I think that over the past 7 months or so, we’ve grown much closer!  Now it’s time that I ask for your help.  No, I’m not going to jail again…I hope, however I’m going on holidays.  You see I have 2 weeks of holidays left to use and I’ve booked a week off at the beginning of November for family visits, but I don’t know what to do with the other week I have off.  Some of the ideas I’ve considered:
Road Trip to Healy, Alaska to hike the Stampede Trail
Skiing on Whistler/Blackcomb in Dec.

Lazing around at home learning lines for an upcoming play
All things sound appealing, accept for lazing around and learning lines.  That just sucks.   So what should I do?  Any suggestions?  Help me out!

I’d like to start this blog off by saying thank you!  Thanks to everyone who came to Nesters on Friday afternoon and bailed me out of jail.  I managed to raise well over $800 and I couldn’t have done it without you.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Thirdly, I announced our 7 finalists this morning for the Hardcore Challenge.  Congrats to Rock, Tom, Stacy-Lynn, Wanda, Kelly, Tara and Hugo who are all competing at a cahnge to win 4 nights and 5 days in a luxury suite at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino along with spending cash from Miracle Mile Shops in Las Vegas.  The winner will also get a 1 year membership at Whistler Core Climbing and Fitness Center.  You are going to get a chance to vote for your favorite competitor, but I’ll let you know when all the profiles are up on the website and you can vote!  That’ll be coming to www.mountainfm.com soon!

I’m getting arrested on Friday all in the name of good charity.  The annual Jail and Bail event is happening this Friday Septemeber 5th at Nesters in Squamish and I’m excited to be a part of it.  I am apparently going to be arraigned before a volunteer judge on some sort of outlandish charge and will then be charged to a few hours in “jail”  I have to spend an hour or two in the slammer to raise bail in the form of donations to the Cops for Cancer.  Obviously I don’t want to be in jail for very long so please, please pretty please come down on Friday afternoon and donate!!

Over 9 days in September, 32 riders will take part in the Tour de Coast 2008, cycling over 800 km’s from Whistler to Maple Ridge and raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer.  Julie Miller and Christy Mohr are happy to represent Squamish in this years ride.

This is your chance to be involved with the 2010 Winter Olympics as a volunteer.  Obviously it takes so much effort from all sorts of different people to put on 4 weeks worth of World Class events and the commity wants you.  Think of the opportunities that you’ll get if you volunteer.  You’ll get to be right in the action and you can say that you were involved with an olympic event, its a once in a lifetime experience.
The Sea to Sky Volunteer Centre is having their Grand Opening this holiday Monday from noon to 4 pm.  There is going to be live entertainment from Squamish’s Jocelyn Band, Whistler’s Hairfarmers and Pemberton’s Gordo.
You can also bring the kids to take a shot on goal with Quatchi, curl with Miga and learn about Biathlon with Sumi as the Vancouver 2010 mascots showcase some of the 2010 Winter Games sports.  Volunteer will get you points if your a digger of gold.
