Mountain FM

Seems like whenever I get tickets for a show, I end up wanting to go to other shows around the same time.  I went to see the Foo Fighters last Sunday and tonight I’m off to see Eddie Vedder kick off his solo acoustic tour in support of the Into the Wild Soundtrack.  As I’ve posted before, Into the Wild is my favorite book of all time and I enjoyed the music in the movie.  Also, being a guy who likes to play guitar, I love going to see acoustic shows.

In other news…my parental units are coming out for a visit.  I’m obviously excited to see them as it’s been almost a year.  They live in Ontario and have been here once before about 4 years ago so I’m excited to show them around.  A day in Whistler, a weekend in Victoria and whatever else I can think of to keep them busy.  Any suggestions…leave a comment.
Finally, my good friend and hottest former Mountain FM’er Rebecca Hall has her own blog set up.  You should check it out for juicy stories about Mikey Ciccone and much much more.  Actually if you go to her blog, you will find your bonus code for today!!
Enjoy and much love

    Dear Rob,

First and foremost you guys rock!! You awarded me the last set of beat-the-box-office tickets last friday, and I just want to say thank you so much. It was my birthday a few days later…..and I’m still walking on air over a week later. You have made my year! I grew up skiing here, and this is so going to be the coolest thing I have EVER done here BY FAR.

In regards to your rents coming, I have a few suggestions. Harbour Air Flight (in Whistler preferrably Joffrey Lakes need I say more…but from Van to Victoria is phenominal, from personal experience). Helijet to or from Victoria…again completely different from the float plane (either, on a sunny day is almost surreal). If you’re on the island, you should definitely drive up the coastline and hop over to Denman and Hornby Islands. They’re both small artisan islands (pottery, artwork, GREAT fishing, beautiful secluded beaches). And the treasures you find there are amazing.

As for North(ish) definitely Banff, through Cache Creek and Lilloett. The Okanagan (fabulous wineries lakes, BEER), down through Kamloops. Some of the local produce and preserves are AMAZING. And you can do a loop right back to Whistler.

Sorry, BC born and bred. What can I say??!!
