Seans Show
Hey it’s SEAN THE BUS DRIVER at the wheel today. Robin Harper was kind enough to let me do a little mock radio show trial. This show is geared towards the Live classic rock weekend a while back. Don’t tell my boss because I’m playing hooky today. Well lets get started with a deep sea adventure after the break.

play: Octopus’ Garden by The Beatles
play: Sea Of Love by the Honey Drippers
play: Twistin’ By The Pool by Dire Straits
Sean The Bus Driver with you today on Chez 106
Kind of an aquatic theme there, we just heard Dire Straits Twistin’ By The Pool,
Honey Drippers Sea Of Love and a Beatles double shot, Yellow Submarine and Octopus’ Garden. One of my favourite Muppet episodes is when they did Octopus’ Garden. Muppet fans will be glad to know that season 3 has just been released on dvd. The show originally ran from 1975-1981 and is still in repeats. Yup, I’m 38 and watch the Muppets when ever I can. The 2 crusty old dudes in the balcony named Statler and Waldorf are my favourites. They kind of remind me of Doc and Woody. Although they are not old and crusty….well not crusty any ways. They do have something no one else in Ottawa has and that’s Ottawa’s #1 morning show. Tune in Monday - Friday from 05:30- 09:00 to hear Doc and Woody and the misadventures of Eric The Intern plus get the news you need with Randall the news guru. I was just checking out the fun page and as always, I left very satisfied with what I saw. You should check it out. Don’t forget so stop by the fund page. Doc and Woody have set this page up for donations for the Doc and Woody fund for the operating rooms at Cheo. Coming up after the break we’ll her a song that according to Bono is not a rebel song when your Chez Live Classic Rock Weekend continues.

Sean The Bus Driver keeping you company today on Ottawa’s classic rock authority Chez 106. We just heard Comfortably Numb by Floyd, Georgia Satellites, keep your hands to yourself, Street Harts version of Under my Thumb and to start it off we had U2 with Sunday Bloody Sunday live. In the spring of ‘06 I went to Ireland and everyone told me that all they do there is drink beer and eat potatoes at which I just laughed. Turns out they were correct. I consumed more beer that I care to or even can remember and don’t even get me started on the amount of potatoes I ate. You know why it is so green over there? It’s kuz it rains every bloody day. I saw the sun on 2 of the 11 days I was there.
Weather today is a mix of sun and cloud with a chance of precipitation with variable temperature. When we come back we’ll have rock out with a C.P.P. A Canadian power pack

play: Wreck Of The Edmond Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot
play: Take Me Back by Bryan Adams
Wow what an amazing set starting of with Rush’s version of Cross Roads, Triumph’s Magic Power, Gordon Lightfoot’s Wreck Of The Edmond Fitzgerald. I could play that song over and over and over again. Oh wait, I think that’s been done. Finishing off the set was Take Me Back by Bryan Adams. I remember him singing that song in concert and he started talking his way through it saying how his girl had done him wrong she wanted back in and how he had to think about it then he paused and said “you know what I said” we all asked “what” “I said f*** you” man it was epic.
When we return after the break we’ll hear a song that launched this artists career into the stratosphere when your live classic rock weekend continues

Chez big voice guy with The Peter Frampton comes alive defining moment in classic rock
play: Show Me The way by Frampton
play: House Of The Rising Sun by the Animals
play: Cats In The Cradle by Cat Stevens
play: Poor Some Sugar On Me by Bon Jovi
I’m Sean The Bus Driver sittin’ for a while. Just heard Bon Jovi’s Poor Some Sugar on Me which by the way I do not think he is talking about what you put in your coffee, preceded by Jim Croce’s Cats In The Cradle, House Of the Rising Sun by The Animals and from Frampton Comes Alive we heard Show Me The Way.
We need to talk about gas for a minute. And no I’m not talking about the aftermath of a couple of chilli dogs. We all get emails about boycotting certain gas stations. This just doesn’t work. We can however use gas stations that give us something back. Use a station that gives you coupons back for gas or cash coupons for a grocery store. I think the gas companies should start doing our laundry for us because let’s face it, every time we fill up, we get taken to the cleaners. Coming up we’ll hear some of the greatest driving songs of all time.

play: Born to Be Wild by Steppenwolf
play: Running Down A Dream By Tom Petty
play: Highway To Hell by AC\DC
play: Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple
play: I Can’t Drive 55 by Van Halen
(whispering) I’m talking quietly right now because you probably all have the volume cranked to the max. We just heard Steppenwolf Born To Be Wild,Tom Petty’s Running Down A Dream, Highway to Hell by AC\DC who are putting the finishing touches on their next album which was recorded in Vancouver. Keep your eyes locked to the Chez 106 concert advisory system for tour news. Also in there, Smoke On The Water from Deep Purple which let’s face it, it’s the song we all learn first on guitar. Rapping up that classic rock block was I can’t Drive 55 from Van Halen. Hopefully we will have them here as part of the classic rock concert series for ‘08.
I’m Sean The Bus Driver, after the break we will hear arguably some the greatest songs ever written starting with a song that never should have had to be written.

Chez big voice guy with the Buddy Holly plane crash defining moment in classic rock
play: American Pie by Don Maclean
play: Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin
play: Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
play: Money by Pink Floyd
play: Hey Jude by the Beatles
Man! What a set. Arguable some of the greatest ever written. Hey Jude, Money, Bohemian Rhapsody, Stairway To Heaven by The Beatles, Floyd, Queen, Zeppelin respectively and starting it off with Don maclean. As it turns out Ritchie Valens was also on that plane that crashed February 3rd 1959. Remember that movie La Bamba. I saw that in the theatre when it came out and I was about 3 sheets to the wind and screamed out “HOLY CRAP” when Ritchie was dreaming and the plane crashed. The audience was not amused with me but I was hammered and didn’t care. Kids don’t do that!
When we return we will continue with the classic rock live weekend where the Eagles start us off to defend their title.
Commercials:
I’m Sean the Bus Driver. Buckle up because the Eagles are about to put their heavy weight belt on the line against a familiar foe and a new one. Last year I suggested that Chez put The Eagles, Seven Bridges Road up against C.S.N.Y.’S, Sweet Judy Blue Eyes as the most awesome sounding harmony song on the planet. I have now added Cotton Fields by C.C.R. It is another fantastic song. So let’s get it on!
Big voice guy on chez talking about Joe Walsh joining the Eagles.
play: Seven Bridges Road live version by The Eagles
play: Sweet Judy Eyes by C.S.N.Y.
play: Cotton Fields by C.C.R.
A heavy weight battle of biblical proportions indeed. Seven Bridges Road live from The Eagles, Sweet Judy Blue Eyes from C.S.N.Y. and Cotton Fileds from C.C.R. My pick is Seven Bridges Road. What’s yours? Tell you what, I have an opinion poll up at Chez106.com Vote for your favourite and you just know we’re going to give you some some Chez nation points for it and I think you will see the Eagles on red alert on the concert advisory system. After the break we will get in touch with our feminine side with some female classic rock

So Hard by Sass Jordan for some mandatory Canadian content to keep the C.R.T.C. happy. Janice Joplin with her good friend Bobby Mcgee, Barracuda by Heart and kicking it all off we had I love Rock And Roll ( don’t we all ) by Joan Jet and The Black Hearts. Boston singing Amanda, love the acoustic guitar in the beginning. The Police With Roxanne and at the top we heard The Boss with a live version of Rasolita
