Beat The Heat

anchor_beer.jpg

With the temperature hitting almost 40 all this weekend I thought it’d be interesting to see what the Chez Nation did to beat the heat. Feel free to offer up ideas as it’s supposed to be a scorcher of a summer.

I usually beat the heat by staying well “hydrated” in the back yard. Although I’ve thought of getting a kiddie pool and soaking in that in the backyard for an afternoon….

    Hey Robin,
It takes a bit of advance planning, but turn the hot tub down to 94 degrees, pour a tall drink over lots of ice and the summer heat is a piece of cake!

We live in Casselman, it’s not quite as bad as The Big City. To stay cool we have a few fans going and try not to use the stove or oven. My wife treated for supper tonight in one of our favourite restauranst here. It was nice and air conditioned too.

I live in the country as well, so I have nothing better to do all day than listen to the radio and enter contests.

To keep cool I leave the windows open through the night, shutting them midmorning as it begins to warmn up.

I run the AC on low for 3 or 4 hours and have a fan running as well.

Please! PLEASE! PLeaSe! atop this 40 nonsense! ! ! It is only 30. Feels like doesn’t count!

Ideally, it would be beautiful naked women following me around with portable fans and beer. Thinking about this leads to a need for a cold shower. Either way, it keeps me cool for the summer (and uncool for writing about it).
