Dear God My Ears
First time a Beatles song is allowed to be used as a hip hop sample. It sounds as good as you would expect! Here’s the WU Tang Clans version of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”…note they’ve changed it to “while my heart weeps”
Bets you can’t make it through the whole song!
here’s the link!

Note the link to hear the tune is the last line of the sentence!

I can’t bring myself to click on that link. Hip Hop sucks ass worse than disco but for some reason no-one’s allowed to say so. What’s up with that?

As sickened as I am by it (I’m tempted to rant about another example of hip-hop/rap lack of original musicality) I am still managing to find a silver lining…albeit thin.
After the equally unoriginal Jamie Foxx released his album, his (teenybopper)fans latched on to a sampled line from Ray Charles song, “I’ve Got A Woman”. This in turn created a new group of fans of Ray Charles, which isn’t a bad thing, right?
So perhaps this sampling will sicken the Beatles fans out there…but will whet the appetites of a new crop of Beatles fans who don’t even realize they’re Beatles fans yet!
ps - Yes, I do realize that both Ray Charles and the Beatles suffered from a lack of originality when they made fortunes covering tunes by other artists…but considering their entire body of work….

Robin,
I’ve just listened to 1 minute, or so, of this WU Tang version and all I have to say is… it BLOWS!
Isn’t there anyone out there with some kind of originality? Some of the newer bands are pretty decent, but one has to draw the line. God. It just BLOWS. George must be turning over in his grave.

Jessie…
I think you hit the nail on the proverbial head with this one….
