Sleep walking with the Stars

The sleep depravation continued today, and so did the weird things that happen when you totally flip your body’s schedule. Yesterday I was simply forgetting things..today..sleep walking. I got home and layed down on the couch knowing I’d pass out there…I decided to turn on “Employee of the Month” (no i don’t own it..it’s on Rogers on demand) just to refresh my memory as to why I would pick Jessica Simpson over Scarlett Johansson to play Jenna Jameson in her biopic. (you can let us know who you would pick under the polls section) As I hit that in and out hazy moment before you finally drift off I thought to myself looking at my guitar beside the tv, ” I wish I wasn’t so tired, it’s a beautiful day, I’d love to be playing my guitar in the sunshine” Then I thought I drifted off to sleep…not the case…I “woke up” standing in my backyard guitar in hand..I use the term “woke up” loosely…because it wasn’t like i was lying down out there or anything..I was just getting ready to sit down I guess to play when I “woke up” thinking “How the hell did I get outside?”

After figuring out I must’ve just sleep walked I decided a bed might be in better order for my nap.

I don’t know if you have themes in your dreams but from time to time I do. The theme is usually artists. I’ve had this re occurring dream for probably about 7 years now where Dave Grohl (of Nirvana and now Foo Fighters) and I are sitting in a lighthouse on a stormy night jamming together…it’s a very vivid dream to the point that I also know I’m playing a red fender telecaster. Today’s artist dream involved Steven Tyler I have no idea why, but we were fixing a car. Suprisingly he’s fairly good at auto repair according to the dream…this prompted me to google dream meanings…I thought they were a load of crap…and after reading the following I still believe that…here’s what it says about dreaming of celebrities

To dream that you are good friends with a celebrity, represents your idealized version of someone you know in your life. Perhaps you hope that a real-life friend can act more like a particular celebrity. Consider the qualities that you see in this celebrity and how you want your friends to have those qualities.”

From that I take that I’m looking for Eric to be more like a recovering drug addict and have more females follow him around than he knows what to do with…ok so maybe half of that is true!

Sleep deprivation is scary indeed. Before I went to university, I had a crummy job at a factory, and switching from days to nights every week. On once particularly scary occasion, I woke up in the driveway of my house, with absolutely no recollection of driving home. I could remember walking out of the factory, and getting into my car…and then…opening my eyes. The car was in park, but still running.

I resolved at that moment to go to school, get a degree, and never do shiftwork again. Powerful motivation.

I was the same way…there’s nothing like a crappy job to get your arse in gear to do something worthwhile
