Titantic Trivia - CONGRATULATIONS!

titantic.jpg

This day in 1912, the supposedly unsinkable RMS Titantic runs into an iceberg in the
North Atlantic and begins to sink.

The clock at the top of the grand stair case played a prominent feature in the movie starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio.

What did the clock stand for according to Bruce Ismay?

** Note: Bruce Ismay was the Managing Director of the steamship line, and the guy who got the last lifeboat and was forever branded a coward.

- Echoes and Silence

- Time and Grace

- Patience and Grace

ANSWER:

According to my “Big Book of Trivia”, the answer is “Time and Grace”…
(the other two options are from the Foo Fighters new album title!)

Since “Honour and Glory” sounds good too… One thousand points for all of you!

Congratulations!!!!!

Honor and Glory crowning Time according to Ismay

  2. Joanne Says:

    Honor and Glory

Like most “company ” men . I believe he was more interested in getting every second he could out of employees and ships. Therefore “time and grace ” is the most fitting .

  4. Lise Says:

I can’t find a ref to what the Titanic stood for according to Bruce Isamy, but the clock was flanked by the allegorical figures of Honour and Glory.
