Worried? I'm ticked ...
These people are making millions of dollars in bonuses on top of huge salaries... I could have ruined the bank for a tenth the price.

I haven't been so angry since Brian Mulrooney was handing out senatorial appointments for GST votes and I didn't even get a chance to sell out for one of those ripe jobs.

We can always hope...like my Uncle (Buck) said, it sucks to be a sports fan in this city. True dat my brother, true dat! They're heartbreakers, the lot. My money's on the Raptors doing something big this year.

Unfortunately, the Leafs organization is committed to running a business...not concerned with winning a championship. Toronto had a chance to bring Scotty Bowman as GM to the organization a few years ago but the Board knew that he would shake up the organization...and the Board didn't want that...it's no wonder the Leafs have yet to find a GM to replace interim GM Fletcher. If this situation existed in any other hockey city, the team would lose its fan base and support would diminish. But what can you say...Leaf supporters are plain stupid...I couldn't believe that some fans actually slept overnight at the ACC in order to obtain free tickets to a Leaf pre-season game against Buffalo...yes, tickets were given FREE to all fans who will be attending that game...but it's only a pre-season game...WHO CARES!! Fans should rather become disinterested in the team and when the organization sees that the people are not going to put up with this nonsense any more, maybe it will finally take the stance that it must put a serious contender on the ice. Anyway, I don't see the Leafs making the playoffs again this season...I guess we have just got accustomed to season-to-season Leaf failures just as we have got accustomed to soaring gasoline prices...

I'm investing, but am beginning to think the whole RRSP is a rip-off. They tax the bejesus out of you when you cash them, so I'm thinking about other ways to "save my money". They'll tax you now, or they'll tax you later. Some democracy, we're taxed up the wazooo and we have zero say in what happens in this country. Free country, I say nyet.

I recall the mortgage crisis of some years ago during the real estate crash... a lot of people were walking away from homes leaving the banks in a lurch.

After 9/11 there was a comment on the crash in the markets and with almost disbelief a coworked expressed concern - hadn't people read the papers in the last three years when the bubble burst and tech stocks nose dived evaporating even more? Wasn't the ENRON crash more significant than what is happening now in total dollars? Have people forgotten the recession of the 80's - reading history shows Microsoft a "struggling company trying to make a showing during a recession."

There is always a catastrophe around the next corner. Really, there is. What I don't see is our government building and repairing our infrastructure (roads and facilities) during the good times so that when they break in the bad times they whine and moan there is no budget.

Enough whining and moaning for the morning... I think I've just given myself a headache.

For about a year now, I've driven about 95 km/h on the highway while using cruise control. My fuel economy has gone up from about 35 to 37 miles per gallon to around 41 or higher. Sure, it'll take me a little longer to get to where I'm going, but that just means I'll have to leave earlier. I also notice that driving a bit longer means I can listen to Jack FM more now too. Doing all of this keeps me stress free, although there are still some idiots who want to cut me off and not use their turn signals when changing lanes.
