Stone Temple Pilots

Monday, January 14th, 2008

Stone Temple Pilots formed in California in 1992.  The band took a lot of heat in their early days from critics who called them nothing but rip off artists who stole from bands like Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.  And while it’s fair to say those bands did have an influence on STP, Stone Temple Pilots still put their own definitive stamp on alternative rock before taking their music to the stadiums.  Slick production and catchy riffs helped the band sell over 3 million copies of their debut album while the follow-up “Purple” hit number one on the charts upon its release.  This band was huge in 1993 before singer Scott Weiland’s drug problems began to derail their success.

For 100 free Jack Nation Points, what was the name of Stone Temple Pilots debut album?

Leave your answer under “comments” and I’ll e-mail you a bonus code if you got the goods.

In the meantime, are you like me, waiting for the Leafs to implode any day now?

Talk about a “Wicked Garden”.

Cheers,
