The Black Crowes

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

The Black Crowes formed in Atlanta, Georgia back in 1984,  but their smash debut album didn’t come out until 1990.  Chris (vocals) and Rich Robinson (guitar) were infamous for not getting along with each other but nonetheless, the brothers formed the core of the band that featured that Stonesy swagger and the Faces’ boogie.  The first single from their debut “Shake Your Money Maker” was a song called “Jealous Again”, but it was their cover of “Hard to Handle” that set the group on its way to multiple platinum success.

Van Halen

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Van Halen were arguably the post popular American rock band of the late ’70s and early 80s.  The combination of guitarist Eddie Van Halen and singer David lee Roth was a force to be reckoned with while the group redefined “the party band”.  Constant core 0f the band, Eddie rewrote the book on what an electric guitar was capable of, with his lightning fast technique and a mix of self-taught moves like two-handed tapping, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and effects that mimicked the sounds of machines and animals and Diamond Dave was a near perfect frontman, whose bravado and showmanship was derived as much from a lounge singer as it was Robert Plant.

How old was Eddie Van Halen when he and his family moved from the Netherlands to Pasedena, California?

A - 8

B - 10

C - 12
