Well, I know what I’m doing tonight…..laundry!!!!

I have not done a wash in over 3 weeks!!! Can you imagine???  It’s not as bad as all that….I’m not a “Dirty Girl” or anything…it’s just that we were away on vacation for 2 weeks, and I just haven’t got around to putting my stuff in the washer yet….maybe tonight?

Do I “do” Carl’s laundry? Not a chance!!!! That was one thing we agreed upon before we got married. If he did my wash and shrunk something I really liked or washed red or black with my whites and ruined something….I would have to kill him…AND…if Carl ever asked me where a certain shirt was, or why it wasn’t clean….I’d have to kill him…so as you can see Carl would NEVER win!!!!

That tactic may not work to keep the peace in everybody’s home, but it works like a charm in ours.  

Today is my first day back after 2 weeks vacation, and it feels GREAT to be back on the air at CHFI!!!!!

One week away is never enough, but by the time 2 weeks are over, it’s nice to get back to the schedule of normalcy…..are ya pickin’ up what I’m puttin’ down here?

We left Lili Mae with family while we were away, and to be honest, I don’t think she cared either way if she ever went home to our house again. She had SUCH a good time with my nieces and their dog Marty!!! I’d show you pictures, BUT my Sister-in-law Joyce loaded the camera incorrectly and none of the shots she took of Lili turned out. I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who is gadget challenged these days!

Just playing catch up now with e-mails, phone messages,  and trying to get a handle on my once finely tuned routine. Man….take me away from a couple of weeks of “real life”, and  now everything seems to be taking A LOT longer to do.

So Carl had to go to a work function last night and decided at the last minute that he wanted to buy himself a new suit.  Such a guy…but anyway, I knew exactly where I could send him and know that he’d be looked after in THE BEST way possible…and that was to see Saul Korman at Korry’s Clothier (569 Danforth Ave)!

Carl always has me go with him when he goes to buy a new suit, but I was busy yesterday afternoon and couldn’t join him at the store, so he was going to cancel and wear something he already had in the closet.  Luckily I know Saul, and was able to call him to see if he would look after Carl when he came in, and he said “yes..for sure”!  Saul does commercials on our brother station FAN590, so I see him in the halls here at the Roger’s Campus ALL the time…and I have to say, he is probably the most impeccably dressed man I have ever met! 

So Carl went on his own to Korry’s, and came out with a suit that he absolutely LOVES!!! Here’s a picture of him modeling his new threads for me and STP in our backyard! lol

 I love this man…..what a GREAT sense of humour he has!!!!

One of our CHFI Sales Reps….Sean Campbell came into the studio driving a portable cooler….it’s like a cooler on a minibike with a nice leather seat!!! Carl would be the “king of the neighbourhood” if he had one of these contraptions!!! He’s not getting one though…apparently they retail for about 500 bucks!! I’m wilting….I’m wilting!!!  Okay…not REALLY. I’m one of those people who LOVE IT when the temperature is above 30 degrees. Other than sleeping in my bed at night…I was outside ALL weekend! 

My new pup Lili Mae was a little uncomfortable in the heat. We set up a baby pool in the backyard for her, but she wanted nothing to do with it. She just used it as a big drinking bowl.

Had a great time with Fiona and Brian Saturday night. We played the 90’s Board Game…super fun BTW….and Brian and I beat Carl and Fiona.  I like being Brian’s partner because when it comes to trivia…he is like….a total guru!  If we ever get an answer wrong, it’s because I’ve convinced him that my answer is the one we should go for.  This is the part where he is clearly the better person, because he never shoots daggers at me for giving the wrong answer.  I, (on the other hand) would let you  know if you tripped me up!  I know I shouldn’t be so competitive…but truly…I have no control over it…I just feel soooo much better when I win. 

Carl says I have issues….”ahhh yeah..duhhh…married you didn’t I”! 

My best friend Jodi, her husband Glen, and Baby Michael came for a visit yesterday. We had lunch outside on the patio and let Michael play in the baby pool. He’s 20 months old and had a blast running around naked in the backyard all afternoon. I just want to eat that little guy up!!!!  

Tonight is the only night this week that I have no plans on tap. I think I’ll finished the Saturday Star Crossword I didn’t “get to” this weekend. 

It’s supposed to be wicked hot this weekend!! I LOVE that!!! Even though we’re about 2 weeks from the official start of summer…for me…it starts today!!!

Lili Mae, is at the Doggy Dresser today getting groomed for the hot temps, and will hopefully look like a superstar when she’s all cleaned up. I’ll take photos and post them Monday if she looks good.

We’re going to relax with a few “bevies” outside in the backyard tonight with STP, and who ever else drops by! Fun!!!

Saturday will be all about getting the flowers in.  I have 2 empty urns at my front door that need filling, and the backyard needs a few splashes of colour, so I’ll be off to buy the “already planted for ya” baskets tomorrow.  Can you tell that I’m a black thumb?

Fiona and Brian are coming over for a BBQ Saturday night. The last time they visited our dog Bosley was on his deathbed, so this time it will be A LOT more fun! She cracks me up that girl!!!! They have 2 Yorkies that will no doubt spend the entire evening avoiding Lili Mae…..and who can blame them really…it would be like if we were sent to hang out with Andre The Giant…remember him from the WWF back in the day? 

No plans for Sunday yet…we’re keeping it pretty loosey goosey because that’s how we roll sometimes.

We got a new puppy over the weekend. The Breeder was going to show her, but she’s a bit small, so we brought her home Saturday.

She is 7 months old…a St. Bernard…and 70 lbs!!! And she is GORGEOUS!!!!! Now here’s the but……BUT, we don’t have a name for her yet, so I’m asking for your assistance. If you can come up with a really “cool” name, that preferably ends in an “ie” or “y” and I end up calling her that name…you’ll get 5000 Loyalty Club Points to add to your account.

The CHFI Oldies Dance is tonight!!!! We always have sooo much fun, but every year at the end of the night, my feet are screaming at me because they’re so sore from dancing my butt off!!! Wouldn’t that be great though…to dance so much that your jeans actually got loose by the end of the night because you dropped a few pounds? I know…I’ll keep dreaming!

Going to look at a few dogs tomorrow. Two St. Bernards…one in Kitchener…the other in Ayr…and maybe a Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier in Stratford.  If there is a connection…a meeting of the hearts…then maybe..just maybe…I’ll bring one of them home with me tomorrow. I’m VERY excited about the possibility!!

This is what happens at our house ALL the time! I want something done, so I call Carl and say, “…you know WE should probably stain that piece of wood in the bathroom to match the vanity”.  Now you know as much as I know, that there is not way on God’s green Earth that I’m doing any staining…so when I say “we”, what I really mean is “Carl”.

This used to be a bone of contention for Carl when we were first married, but he’s learned to accept, “it is what it is”, and now he laughs about it when I say it to him. 

 I’m a “piece of work”, and I know it!!! We have learned to accept that too!
