Well you know the rules, either follow them or suffer the consequences I say! If he gets caught, good, he deserves to get caught!
Breaking the rules doesn't change them though! I personally think street parking should be free (with a designated limit of course) in various shopping districts to encourage customers. Many small towns I know have free street parking in their downtown cores.

I agree James!
I also blame the public for their first and foremost reaction to wrongs done to them! I will "sue" you rings in the ears of many health professionals! Saying Im sorry, ADMITS liability! I have no problem saying Im sorry to anyone for anything! If I wrong you, you will receive a genuine apology. However, we are becoming a legal liability infested culture and no one opens any doors to that!
If the public can accept an apology and move on, health care professionals might be more willing to say "I'm sorry for my error! "

Hi Lisa
I agree with Marcel. I do not wait until the end, I merge when ever I can and as soon as I can, without having anyone have to break to let me in! I have been witness to too many people waiting until the end only to find no one will let them in. Perhaps they feel like the merging traffic is butting in line after roaring along the merge lane. The closed ramp on the 427S onto the QEW E is a prime example. You get into your correct lane, you crawl along until it is your turn to get onto the one lane ramp only to have someone fly along and barge in at the last minute after you have been crawling along for 5 mins. I have seen many a driver refuse to let them in. Now the merger is stopped, blinker on, and blocking the lane they are in. I agree with Marcel, it slows traffic!
Also wanted to say, Im sorry to hear you are leaving 680 news. I will certainly miss you every morning! Best wishes to you in your future endeavors Lisa!
Thanks for the great years to my ears!

Hi Lisa,

I wonder if Tom Vanderbilt has ever driven on a GTA freeway lately. I do that twice daily on my commute to and from the office and I can firmly say that waiting to the very end of the merge lane to butt-in actually slows traffic to a crawl because by forcing your way in, all traffic behind you has to stop. I haven't read the book so I can't comment on the rest of it, but on the merging issue, he's out to lunch.

I may sound like a tape machine when I coin the phrase" guns don't kill people, people kill people".

It is true, I have never seen or heard of a gun jumping out from a holster on its own or a secured gun cabinet and start to shoot away, accidents not withstanding.

Mayor Miller wants to ban handguns or for that matter, all guns. That will only impact legitimate gun owners or gun club members who shoot at targets as a sport.

Criminals on the other hand have yet to demonstrate that they will abide by any implemented law limiting their use of guns in the commision of their criminal activities.

Our police and other law enforcement agencies are doing all they can to keep our society safe, only to see the same people walking out on bail or given laughable sentences.

The existing gun law does no need any more regulations, because it has always been illegal to use a firearm in the commision of a crime for as long as I can remember. The only thing that needs to be overhauled is our judicial system.

We need competent and wise judges that will impose maximum sentences allowable under the criminal code once a conviction is registered.

We need a bill passed in the House where using a firearm in the commission of a crime will net a minimum of ten years of prison in a federal correctional facility with no parole eligibility for a first time offence. Subsequent infractions will net 20 years and of course to life on the third offence. Not too many shooters can last 30 years after a second jail term, I suspect.

That will get them(criminals) thinking, and if all else fails, bring back the capital punishment for premeditated murders.

I posted a comment the same day but I don't see it here.
I guess you only post positive comments.
My comment was:

Who cares!
Don't drag it out.
You should either leave sooner or you should have told us closer to the time.

In response to Maurizio... I have to tell you that as a mother of two wonderful boys (aged 5 and 20months old). I have experienced first hand a Sever Allergic Reaction when my 20 month (who was 1 year and 1 week at the time) took a reaction to Peanuts on Dec. 18 2007. His eyes swelled his lips swelled, he caughed, he went into a daze, he got Hives from his mouth to his ears on both sides of his face, His eyes went PINK, not bloodshot, PINK, they glossed over. We had no idea he was allergic to anything, he put a piece, that was smaller than a pinky nail of his big brothers peanut butter sandwich into his mouth and spat it out. He did not even swallow it.

To see your child in this state, and be usless; to have an 911 respondant tell you to watch the child closley until the ambulance arrives, and make sure he stays concious.... I as a mother have never felt so usless, all you can do is hope, that everything is going to be OK. Meanwhile this day we had a hugh snow storm in MTL, and it took the ambulance 30min to arrive, I panicked and said to my husband that he could die... my older child over heard and cried, i dont want my baby to die.... I cried and realized i need to be under control... I cried on the phone to my mother, telling her i was scared...

So i'm sorry to tell you but NOT EVERY child with an allergy to nuts is well aware of the consequences of eating a peanut, and invariably will take precautions to avoid them, and you shouldnt think of it as penalizing everyone for someone else. It is not ludicrous. As far as growing up, I once thought the same thing as you I was a Sixteen year old that new everything. I thought Why should every one else not be allowed to eat peanut butter sandwiches, but until that Day in Decemebr, i never realized the severty of the allergic reaction. I can only wish that you never experience this first hand, i wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy.
