Ch-ch-changes
If you were listening to the 680News morning show around 7:10 a.m. this morning, you already know that I have decided to leave 680News. This decision didn’t come lightly! In fact, I’ve spent a very long time thinking about it, and weighing my options and values.
I’m not going to another radio station. I’m not leaving FOR anything professional, but for a major change in my personal life. I will continue to write my column for The Sun and to appear on the TV show, Whatever Happened To. And I hope to continue my relationship with Rogers Broadcasting in some form. I’ve been here at 680News for more than nine years; three-and-a-half of them as morning anchor on CHFI, and the past six with Paul Cook as co-anchors on the 680News morning show.
I will miss the people! My work husband, Paulie, Elizabeth “The Empress” Harrison, Jennifer “J-Mac” Macdonald, Rudy Blair, Leslie James, Mike Eppel and everyone else I’ve worked with for so many years. This truly has been the best and most challenging job of my career.
But, keep in mind that I’m going to be here until Halloween! And the search for Paul’s next co-anchor is on. Thank you for being here, and we’re all doing our part to make it a smooth transition into the next era of the 680News morning show.

Hello,
Well, I have listened to and enjoyed listening to and Paul since you took over from Marlane Oliver, you have done a great job! You will be missed!
From your lack of comments about your “dog(s)”, your various holiday reports and your move to a condo it sounds like you are now a single “whole” instead of “half of a whole”…. good luck. This takes some adjustment. I speak from experience….my spouse dropped dead in our home when I was at work - a few years ago - I’m still getting used to being a “whole” and not “half of a whole”!
Good luck with your career change and your personal life. Hopefully you will not be out of our Rogers listening orbit forever!

First a motorcycle adventure and now a change in jobs - two very courageous things to do. I wish you all the best.

Hi Lisa:
I am going to miss you in the morning. You and Paul set the tone for the routine. You will be very dearly missed by all who know what it means to hear both of you in the morning. Well this is a small world and some day you never know when Rogers is going to acquire your company as well. Afterall, this is a small world.
Best of luck.

Lisa:
This is the first time I’m writing to any radio station or answering a blog (yes I’m still in the dark ages). However I just had to let you know that I’m going to miss you terribly.
You crack me up every morning with your sharp retorts and great sense of humour. 680 just will NOT be the same without you.

Snif!!
My mornings will be a little bland at first, I must admit…I cannot imagine ANYONE having the great radio chemistry that you & Paul have!!
Whoever is lucky enough to sit in your chair come November 1st will have big shoes to fill.
All the best to you in your new adventures!

Your wit and banter with Paul is what made this show. There is one recent comment that I still chuckle at. When talking about booze (or regulations thereof) one morning, you mentioned: “Well it’s noon somewhere” and went straight to commercial without laughing or anything … I was in hysterics … and couldn’t stop laughing. People beside me during the morning rush were all weirded out! One request; can you please post some URLs to other blogs like this SUN one you talk about?
You’ll be missed!!

I really appreciate the comments. They warm my heart!
Ahmad, the Sun doesn’t post online the columns (called House Proud) that I write for the New Homes and Condos section. They’re only in the paper itself every other Friday, this coming Friday being an “on” Friday. Thanks for asking!

Good move. You can do something more interesting. Toronto may lose a sweet sound in broadcasting irritating news but it may gain a keen sight in depth of people’s life. Hope you have greater success in the future.

Update: My House Proud articles are available on my own website, www.lisabrandt.ca .

I posted a comment the same day but I don’t see it here.
I guess you only post positive comments.
My comment was:
Who cares!
Don’t drag it out.
You should either leave sooner or you should have told us closer to the time.
