If you’re going to blog, blog!

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

If you read this blog, and perhaps my home blog, it’s probably likely that you read other blogs as well. There are a few blogs that I check into every day, including those of some radio competitors, colleagues and some other people whose opinions I enjoy or whose work I like.

One of those is actor Zach Braff. He’s a star of Scrubs and a budding film writer and director, whose Garden State was a sweet little movie. So was The Last Kiss. He’s also been in a few duds, but I really think he has talent and might actually have a career like Tom Hanks one day. Tom, if you’re not aware, started out as a sitcom star on the goofy Bosom Buddies and has gone on to become a leading actor and Oscar winner.

So, Zach is kind of cool. He’s a bit of a ladies man and usually has some interesting behind the scenes stuff to share on his blog. At least, he did, when he was still writing it. There hasn’t been an entry on www.zachbraff.com since last September 26. Before that, he last blogged in June. I know, because I check, every day; it only takes a couple of seconds and it has become a bit of a game! When will Zach come back?

As of this morning, there were 1,790 comments below the last blog, many of them pleading with the performer to return and say something - anything. Even during the writers’ strike, when almost all TV production came to a virtual standstill, Zach remained mum. It seems such a waste to put up a website and then not use it. It’s also kind of annoying to claim you’re going to write a blog, invite people to read it and then not bother to update the content for, let’s say, five months. I’ll leave it to the hard-core Braffites to hound him for updated content. But, in the meantime, I will surf over every day while I’m doing my regular online reading, just hoping that one day Zach will be back.
