Monday Monday
Mondays.
Does anyone like them?
I don’t think it matters if you love your job or what you do, there’s something about having to face the end of a weekend and the start of the busy weekday routine that can wipe a smile off even the most optimistic face.
In the news business we recognize that people are in different mindsets depending on the day of the week. Mondays, you may be a bit glum about getting back on what I like to call the “hamster wheel” of work life.
On Fridays, you may have a little extra spring in your step, anticipating weekend fun and a chance to shake off the regular routine.
Does this affect the news? Absolutely! The news is still the news but it can also be presented in a way that’s more reflective of the way you, our audience, is feeling. Today, we hope we brightened up your Monday by reminding you that not every autumn is this warm and this sunny! We should enjoy it and be grateful. So…are you?

Just a comment from one of the MANY thousands of shift workers in this city that seem to have been forgotten! Friday, Monday, Wednesday…..they are all the same to us. When you news reporters are overflowing with excitement about it being 4:00 on a Friday afternoon, please remember us! Throw us a bone once in a while! We get forgotten most often on weekends, especially when everyone and their dog has some sort of run, walk, festival or whatever, and close the roads down making it even more difficult to get to our workplaces!
Thanks!

I wish I could have the pleasure of not looking forward to Mondays. I work in retail and there is no such thing as shaking off regular routines and looking having extra spring in my step on a Friday. Every day is Monday except the one day off that I have. But it is within my control and since I love my job so much I would never want to change it. You have to take the good with the bad. Good day.

You both make very good points.
I have worked both weekends, overnights and 6 day weeks myself and I can remember how it felt to feel like an outsider compared to the 9-5 world! Come to think of it, I still feel that way, getting up at 3 am every day. But I digress.
Thanks for reminding us that not everybody has the same lifestyle.
