50 Year History
Kromer. The name is well-known (and loved!) throughout the GTA as the first choice for entertainment electronics. Kromer’s rich history reaches all the way back to 1957. That was the year Paul Kromer set up the first Kromer Radio on Harbord Street. Back then the focus was exclusively on car radio, and Kromer quickly built a reputation for first-rate value and installations. Kromer fast became “the place” to go for your car radio installation. Even many of Toronto’s major car dealers relied on Kromer’s expert installation team. Many still do.
As the years went by, Kromer expanded its offering to include TVs and premium home audio equipment. By 1974, Kromer was ready to make the big leap to 420 Bathurst Street. The larger premises allowed Kromer to build an in-store environment that is simply unrivalled. The superbly renovated 25,000 square foot facility includes a state-of-the-art, two-level showroom with multiple auditioning spaces, a 10 car garage for car audio/video/accessory installation, a complete repair department with expert technicians trained in the repair and restoration of everything from audio/video gear to phones, fax machines, mini-systems & microwave ovens.
Our installers have an average of 14 years experience each, ensuring that no one will be learning on your vehicle. Our repair technicians are the best in the city with an average of over 25 years experience each. All staff at Kromer including sales, installation and service representatives participate in regular training to ensure they are always up to date in their respective fields. Our wholesale division is well-known for quality work and personal, prompt attention.
