Personally i think people should have to re-test every ten years or so.People seem to forget everything once they get on the road, they drive like its everyone elses job to get out of their way.
Maybe a simulater instead of on the road so you can pick on the main points like signally when you change lanes etc!

Graduated license for the elderly is a great idea, when we drive with ”
Grandma ” she drives 80 km an hour on the queensway and 110 on the other
roads…but, oh ya she’s been driving for 50 years !!!

Yes I do!! I thing that as soon as you it age 60 you should have to go through more testing, especially road testing. I was in an accident with a woman driver, she was 78 years old and should not have been driving. At first she said that she did not see me I was driving an 1986 Caprice Classic station wagon with chrome package it was 18 feet long and at least an extra foot wider than other cars!!!, then she said I had a stop and did not do it - the accident happenend 2 blocks from her home, there were no stop sign. So Yes, I think that graduated licenses for the elderly is a great idea!!

There is no political will to change things for senior drivers. Ontario already has some rules in place for drivers over 70 that are in an accident, their fault or not. Seniors make up too many votes at election time & hold significant power when it comes to issues directed to just them. I have seen this play out way too many times to think this will ever happen. How about propose everyone get tested every 10 years. There are certainly enough bad drivers (too fast, too slow, bob & weavers, no signals, tailgaters, oh & the best one — since when did the centre lane on a multilane highway become the slow lane…SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP TO THE RIGHT !!!! Did we all forget about that ONE…oh yes if you allow me just one more, You know the flashing lights and the distinct sound of a siren, that means EMERGENCY VEHICLE, so pull over to the right and allow them to pass, do not be an idiot and pretend they aren’t even there!!! So if you do any of the above, then we should see you in line every 10 years, because you REALLY have to brush up on the rules of the road….

Given the fact that our body brakes down and we become less capable of doing things as quickly or efficiently as we age, I strongly believe that people at a certain age, should be tested on a regular basis to make sure that their body parts are all working efficiently and effectively, so as, to not cause someone else, to not be able to use all their body parts effieciently and effectively.

I strongly believe that people over a certain age should be tested on a regular basis because it’s a known fact that, as we get older our bodies don’t work as efficiently and effectively. I believe it’s the right thing to do, so that accidents don’t occur that takes other peoples abilities to live their life fully and effectively away, as well as to mention, taking their lives away completely, heaven forbid.
