Miley Cyrus apologizes for racy photos
Miley Cyrus has apologized for this photo in which she appears to be naked, in an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair. She says she is embarrassed by them. The Disney Channel has also issued a statement saying, "a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15 year old in order to sell magazines." What do you think of the picture? Do you think this is a healthy image for your teenager to see?

If she’s so embarrassed, why the heck did she pose for them in the first place? What did she think the pictures would look like when the asked her to take her clothes off? Did she think they’d photoshop them back on? I know she’s only 15, but that doesn’t excuse that kind of naive thinking! She should know better!

So……if this is such a controversial picture and Sandra was so upset about it, etc., etc., why would you show it on your website?
105.3 is just as bad as Vanity Fair for printing the pictures.
Why would you condem the picture and then post it? Basically you are saying “This picture is shameless and it shouldn’t have been shown….but here it is (for more people to gawk at)”
I am upset with you 105.3 you are simply adding fuel to the fire.

Society has been exploiting young woman for ages. Using their sexuality to sell movies, records, or cars, is nothing new. From pin up girls in the 50s to now Spears and others.
It is not these young woman I condem, it is the industry and the managers for exploiting them for profit. They creat sex toys to please young and not so young men, and make $. they also sell young girls on the idea that a “real woman” is like this.
What image of our girls is that given young men? and what image of themselves are young woman getting?
It serves no perpous to exploit them other then profit for a few.
But the problem is not only exploiting the young women, it is in how we as a society accept that women be exploited for sexual gratification or for profit on a daily basis: adds, soft porn (see various radio sites, even just in ottawa for a few racy samples) all the way to porn and prostitution… even sex slaves (lots of those in Canada).
what effect does that have long run? Well we now see adolescent engage in extreme sexual behavious very young, such as orgies at 14. and don’t kid yourself, this is going on right here in our region. girls performe oral sex as payment for a friend doing them a favor, like pretending to be their borfriend tog et another boy off her back, and right at school…
Such disrespect for women leads to more violence against woman. more rape, more assults, more private pictures passed along to friend on cell phones.
We as adults need to stop preaching and start acting. Don’t listen to the radio station that degrades woman, don’t go to the store who’s image of women you dissaprove of, and let it be known to management.
That is our power as citizens and customers.
I for one have stopped listening to CHEZ 106 because of a sexist and racist broadcast where the station management fail to respond in a way I deamed acceptable, actually they tried to justify it, where they should have just said sorry.
So I respect these young women, and I ask myself when will their management?

There is nothing wrong with a woman’s naked body. We are all born with the same parts, its no secret as to what’s under the sheet, so what’s the big deal? And believe it or not, Miley is a woman. She’s old enough to have hit puberty and be sexually active. Society makes women’s body to be a huge deal and that we should cover them up. Why do we do this? Do men behave the same? No, but because of how we have been raised, it is our belief that we should hide our bodies. In most other cultures, women’s bodies are embraced for the beauty they are. I think it is a beautiful piece of art and I am very happy to show my daughter this picture and help her learn that we should be comfortable with ourselves.
The more we try and force our daughters to cover up, the more they will be ashamed of their bodies and want to rebel against us. We need to find a middle ground. Now, if Miley had posed in some porn pictures, I would be feeling different, instead its about her body and not her sexual life. Everyone is sick in a way that they see a little skin and they automatically assume sex, instead of art and beauty. Its no wonder girls have complexes when we teach them that if they show their bodies, they will get raped for it, instead of seeijng it as art and beauty.

What people don’t know is that if you are e-mailed a picture of a child that could be considered child porn and you don’t delete it and report it to your boss or the police you could be charged with child porn. Think about it, Kiss fm you just posted a picture of a half naked 15 year old girl. If she had not been a star and the picture not taken by a famouse photographer this would have been considered child porn. In Canada 16 is the legal age of consent.

The only problem I have with the pictures of her is that I don’t recall hearing her song playing on your radio station until you talked about the pictures of her showing her bra. That made me wonder if her music is only worth playing if she has some controversial pictures taken. That is what disappointed me the most.

I think she/they (her management) knew EXACTLY what they were doing. Sadly enough, the bottom line is, sex sells, even if it’s an underage teeny bopper (especially so). I think they did the photo shoot knowing exactly how it would turn out, selling to to adult (pedoph) audiences, then turned and cried the victim to apease Disney and they G-rated audience (and their parents). It’s a game and they are playing it well. The kid is a pawn to makes millions. Problem is, who’s gonna fall at Checkmate?
