Edmonton’s environmentally-friendly program is marking its 20th anniversary. The original “blue box” program started citywide in November 1988.
That’s pretty cool, don’t ya think!! Over the past two decades, Edmontonians have diverted 674,000 tonnes of recyclables from landfills. That’s equal to the weight of 170,000 elephants, say city officials. It would fill enough recycling trucks to form a convoy from the Alberta capital to Thunder Bay, Ont.

So the Edmonton Oilers have released the 3rd jersey for this year. It is a throw back to 30 years ago. Am I the only one who thinks this is a plot to make us the fans spend more cash?
The team will wear their new jersey in 14 games this season. The first time they’ll wear the new/old jersey is Sunday night in the home opener against Colorado. The Oilers will also wear it against the Original Six Teams as well as on the Glen Anderson sweater retirement night, January 18.
