Cambridge - Paris Rail Trail
My boyfriend and I spent Canada Day biking from Cambridge to Paris and back.
There’s a trail that runs from Hamilton to Cambridge on the old rail line. It’s 77 km long, which is more ambitious that we were looking to do. However, the 22 km from Cambridge to Paris seemed like a nice way to spend the day.
It’s a beautiful and very well maintained trail with great views of the Grand River. Since it’s the old rail line, it’s also very flat.
When we got to Paris, I was surprised to see how many other cyclists made it their destination. Every where we looked there were bikes chained the lamp posts and parking meters as their owners rested in the local cafe’s and restaurants.
Mark and I spent the better part of two hours, relaxing on a patio before making the trek back to Cambridge.
It’s great to see the province, municipalities and sponsors maintain something like this. It’s free to use the trail and a great way to spend an afternoon.
It’s also very good exercise. We were exhausted by the end of the trip. But it was well worth it.
