Time Of The Season
Well, the boiler has been firing up less frequently of late. Just about time to shut down the system for the spring & summer. Yeah, we have hot water radiators at our place…which turned 100 this year incidentally. The fact that these rads are stamped Patented April 16, 1887…is really cool…and hot too I guess. Still a viable heating system after all these years. It also brings to mind a band.
For the season’s last blast of hot air and a pipeful of JACK Nation points, enter the correct response into the BONUS CODES section at www.925jackfm.com.
A clue later…..

not-canned heat
May 13th, 2008 at 8:37 am
Jeannine, the answer will be heard on Jack today - over and over again.
May 13th, 2008 at 8:48 am
It look more like something made in 1981.
May 13th, 2008 at 8:48 am
Sorry Jeannine. I want to help you, but my clue is in moderation hell.
May 13th, 2008 at 9:03 am
It took me 2 seconds to figure this one out.
May 13th, 2008 at 9:05 am
got it, it must be the nice weather, im thinking alot more clearly these days, unfortunately im stuck inside an office with no windows on this beautiful day, i would like just ONE day where i can get out here early, just ONE!
May 13th, 2008 at 9:14 am
Jeannine, if you really study the picture using all your options, you should get it.
May 13th, 2008 at 9:15 am
“Time of the Season” was a song by The Zombies - but that isn’t the answer.
Sandra, Wendy & Pat, got any clues that might help the rest of us? How many words? Is it an old band?
May 13th, 2008 at 9:26 am
Think two second Tuesday
May 13th, 2008 at 9:28 am
NOT
DonnaSUMMER
Dusty SPRINGfield
Bruce SPRINGteen
May 13th, 2008 at 9:29 am
Hi Sandra. Is it something to do with a metal band?
The radiator is made of up some kind of cast iron.
No clue here
May 13th, 2008 at 9:30 am
NOT Four Seasons
May 13th, 2008 at 9:31 am
I tried Black Sabbath, that did not work.
May 13th, 2008 at 9:36 am
I know I’m new to posting, but I’ve managed to get the last two days fairly easily. Look at the name of the picture.
BTW. The Two Second Tuesday song was very easy to identify, Latvia would be a pretty cool place to visit; I hear they have good beer there.
May 13th, 2008 at 9:50 am
I watched Dancing With The Stars last night. My favourite is Kristi Yamaguch. I hope she wins.
Tonight , there really will be a dance choreographed in tribute to “Thriller.” And the dancing kids will be back and a champion crowned.
NO Clue
Any hints about the band?
How many words?
May 13th, 2008 at 9:53 am
What do they speak primarily in Latvia, is it Russian?
May 13th, 2008 at 9:57 am
Late start this morning….need my coffee before I tackle this one.
(no hidden clues)
May 13th, 2008 at 10:01 am
Not ChambersBrothers
May 13th, 2008 at 10:08 am
One Word.
May 13th, 2008 at 10:11 am

May 13th, 2008 at 10:15 am
I love 2 second tuesday’s does anyone know where the Latvia is?
May 13th, 2008 at 10:40 am
Dancing Ballroom Danny - Have we met before?
May 13th, 2008 at 10:40 am
Sandra, Wendy and Pat, do you have any clues?
Jeff is blocking my question about a type of band.
May 13th, 2008 at 10:41 am
Lori - not Black Sabbath but you are thinking along the right lines.
May 13th, 2008 at 10:42 am
Ok, I just got it.
Thanks Jeff. Because of you I figured out the answer.
May 13th, 2008 at 10:44 am
“Time of the Season” is just referring to shutting down the boiler when the warm weather comes. It is not a clue. So don’t try the Zombies or the Four Seasons.
May 13th, 2008 at 10:45 am
I am sure the clue for number of letters is lost in moderation somewhere
May 13th, 2008 at 10:51 am
well not
eagles
aerosmith
coolandthegang
May 13th, 2008 at 11:22 am
This is my 3rd attempt at getting a clue through. My best advice is to just look at the picture. What do you see? Once you get the right word, pronounce it slightly differently and add 4 letters onto the end of the word.
May 13th, 2008 at 11:23 am
He isn’t letting anything by today.
May 13th, 2008 at 11:23 am
Anyone good with geography? ….. Where is Latvia?
Thanks, … Ray
May 13th, 2008 at 11:25 am
nice picture Jeff. that must be pretty heavy metal
very detailed.
May 13th, 2008 at 11:26 am
you can hear their music on 92.5 JACK FM. On some days, alot more than other days. I’m going back to sleep, man. Good Luck Everyone.
May 13th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Question: The Metallica picture on the cover page has Jason Newsted with the band - where is a current picture with “new” bassist Robert Trujillo ?(unless you have a scoop that Jason returned to Metallica ?)..
if no scoop - I hope Lars or James don’t see it - they’d likely flip out - they are sensitive that way.
- no clue here, but I can use one to help me out - please & thx
May 13th, 2008 at 11:33 am
tried canned heat-no
May 13th, 2008 at 11:40 am

Great clue, found it within 5 minutes of reading your clue. Thank you.
It would be great to travel to see this band.

May 13th, 2008 at 11:48 am

May 13th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Did any of you watch the second RockStar show? Really miss that show!
May 13th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
Did everybody get today’s 2 Second Tuesday answer?
May 13th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Jeff,
Is that rad made of IRON? That’s pretty HEAVY I would imagine. Pretty HARD to move. Maybe that’s why it is still in your house after all these years. I also read somewhere that these older ones are making a come back now adays - especially in EUROPE.

TO EVERYONE N THE BLOG,
BECAUSE I WROTE THIS AFTER 9 P.M. LAST NIGHT IT WAS HELD IN MODERATION, SO I’D JUST LIKE TO ASK ALL OF YOU IF ANY OF YOU ARE IN THE INSURANCE BUSINESS, I COULD USE SOME ADVICE AND WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT, SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU’RE OUT THERE!!!
THANKS A LOT TO EVERYONE ALSO FOR THEIR KIND WISHES!!
YOUR FRIEND,
APRIL
May 13th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Jack,
How do you get your clues through and the rest of us get moderated!
May 13th, 2008 at 12:34 pm
Jennifer, It is one word for the answer.
Look at the picture. What is it made out of?
Time of the season has nothing to do with the anwer.
May 13th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Well it’s either obvious or it’s not depending on what you are seeing in the picture.
The two second Tuesday clip was also easy… Would like to win that trip, I was in Riga Latvia in 1991… back when it was still under Soviet control. I’m curious to see how it has changed in 17 years, and seeing the concert would be a bonus.
May 13th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Paulb, I remember it was Karen or Sandra, that used the Amber method.
May 13th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
Yeah Jack - how you do it?????
I’m still hanging in mod land…………….
May 13th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Four person band, and they’re still recording, got their start in the 1980s, with their best years being from mid-1980s to mid-1990s.
May 13th, 2008 at 12:50 pm
Thanks Jack - I don’t really get it how Jeff got that answer from the picture and clues that he gave - but then, Jeff’s thought process van be very strange. The scary part is that more and more of the bloggers are getting the answer first thing in the morning on the first crack - I’d be careful if I was some of you out there …………………….. : - )
May 13th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Sorry Polly, I’m afraid not, but I like watching Dancing With The Stars.
Len Goodman was really tough on Kristi Yamaguch and only gave her a 9.
Bruno and Carrieanne gave her two 10s.
Have you seen the movie Ironman?
May 13th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
Thank you Jack for the great clue!
Entered so many bands this morning and nada.
Now I can relax my brain today.
Jack, I wonder why Jeff let your clue through? You aren’t one in the same person ARE YOU??? LOL
Never know who’s who in Jacksterland.
P.S
DIANA, Thank you so much for your concern. We all have really become one big happy family.
Jeff will soon have to have a separate place on this site for all of our personal stuff. Thanks again Diana.
Claire
May 13th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
It is an ominous sign, isn’t it Sharon. It’s like we are all starting to think like Jeff!
May 13th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Hi Jack: Thanks soooo much, I would never of even thought of that. I guess its the metal aspect. Hi April: I’m so sorry to hear of your last accident. I can just amagine the pain and suffering you are now going through. As for a good insurance agent, they’re all crooks and look out for number one and that’s not you. Take care. Oh by the way, my computer keeps crashing also, I think it has something to do with the less than trustworthy website’s I’ve been going on to find song titles. Take Care, Janice
May 13th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
I thought it would be the tragically hip… but no dice
May 13th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
Yes, Jack. I agree with April. You do rock!! Even I got that one!! Thank you very much! (I would also like to know how your clues get through!)
Jennifer
May 13th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
Dancing Ballroom Danny,
Haven’t seen you on the blog before, so I wanted to welcome you to our great blog. I’m sure you’ll end up loving it and Jeff can put us through torture somedays, I guess it depends on his mood!!
I love to dance too, but don’t do a lot of it anymore, but you’ll also see another blogger called “Dancing Disco Dan” (unless you are one in the same and tricking us?? LOL).
Anyways, I watch “Dancing with the Stars” too. Because of his injury and also because he’s doing SO well with it, even though I was a figure skater for 7 years and had to stop for medical reasons, I would normally vote for Kirsti as a woman hasn’t won it snce Kelly Monaco did the first season (from General Hospital), so my vote is going to go to Cristian and Cheryl (even though I think that when it comes down to the vote, Jason might beat Cristian.)
Re: today’s clue: it’s only one word plus if you read the comments from the people who got it, you’ll probably FIND the answer yourself!!
Cheers,
April

April
May 13th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
Dear RobL,
Re: yesterday’s blog. No offence taken at all!! As for the chiro, as I told Louise yesteday, I couldn’t go anywhere near a chiropractor as I have many fusions and plates and screws in my back and a chiropractor would be of NO help to me, BUT I REALLY appreciate the offer and concern, thanks, but there’s nothing anyone can do at this point. I would explain further BUT please take the time to READ yesterday’s comment’s at 4:31 p.m. and you’ll see that this is getting a bit ridiculous, some people are just……I’ll let you read it and get back to me, okay?
Thanks about my win, it was nice to hear some good news for a change!!
Your friend,
April
May 13th, 2008 at 2:22 pm

May 13th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Perhaps Jack works for Jack FM? They named the station after the guy after all. So maybe he’s some sort of God who always gets his clues to go through. LOL
May 13th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
It’s not Foreigner as in Cold as ice or hot blooded Rob.L think of One and name the band. Also Jeffs clues with the picture should give you the answer dont over think.

May 13th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
hmmmm Is Jack a real person or the “Jack” from JackFM?
May 13th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
Hope everyone has been able to enjoy our one day of summer temps & sunshine (back to rain and cooler temps tomorrow). And it’s TST.
April,
My gut tells me you’re asking about car insurance. But if you’re asking about life insurance, investments, etc., my boss may be able to help. I work for an independent broker who is very respected in the industry.
Let me know.
Louise
May 13th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
Hey Jeff,
Have you ever thought of having a JACK party so that we JACKsters can meet?
Food for thought.
Louise
May 13th, 2008 at 3:09 pm

May 13th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
Jack, I guess sometimes J just misses it, or lets an easy one thru.
I’ve done that a few times and it gets stuck some, and thru some.
Hmm, roll of the dice, eh!?

May 13th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Not: The Radiators, Thanks Jack for setting me straight. Hope you all got the two second tuesday clues when you woke up early.
May 13th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
Take 2 seconds to look at the picture
May 13th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
Hey Jeannine
I see your first answer is Dave Matthews Band - NO - are you a fan? going to the concert? I’m trying to get good tickets ….can anyone in Jack Nation help me get good tix to see Dave Matthews in June?
May 13th, 2008 at 6:02 pm
thanks Jack….I wuv you!!
May 13th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
Wowzers, you know earlier that’s what I thought it might be…then I though noooooo, couldn’t be. But again because there’s so much commotion at work, time ran out at lunch, so best try later. I hustled my wee (yeah, wee…sure) buns down to the library - almost missed my computer reservation, and here we are…took me a couple of seconds to get it. Jack you really do rock my friend, and maybe you skee-daddle on past the gatekeeper cuz you are…Jack.
Polly, Claire, Diana, April, and all who wished the 2 Donna’s well, I thank you. I spoke to my friend late last night, and there was no doubt it was a stroke, there’s an MRI on the bill, and I guess with something like this there’s a 72 hour window to determine the severity. Upshot is she squeezed my friend’s hand when she talked to her. So she’s in there. When I told my friend that there were a lot of people pulling for her friend she said “thanks a bunch”. I wanted to share that with you - we really have become a close knit group haven’t we? That’s awesome. Thanks again! :’)
Hugs,
Lee Ann
May 13th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
Thanks Janice,
You wouldn’t believe it, on the way back from the reporting center today, 2 cars smashed into each other about 50 yards ahead of me and all I was thinking of is that saying, that things comes in three’s and that would have been #3. I’m never going out again, LOL!!
April
May 13th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Louise,
You’re a sweetie, but you are right, it is car insurance I’m looking for, but thanks anyways, I really appreciate your attempt at melping me. Thanks again.
April
May 13th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
I think it was Sandra or Karen who used the Amber method.
I just used the same method, so I would like to thank them.
The funny thing is take your mouse and move it over the picture.
What do you see?
Look at the .jpg file.
Also I do not work for JackNation 92.5fm.com
Glad that I could help out.
I may need your help tomorrow.
Janice, I am using Norton Antivirus 10.1.5.5000 and Spybot -Search and Destroy 1.5 for viruses and spyware.
May 13th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
amazing how easy it seems; once you GET IT!!
kudos to jack…..
May 13th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
HI April. I do not know of anyone who is in the insurance business. I wish I could be more helpful. I heard there is a disco in downtown Toronto. I would not mind going there sometime, instead of being in the house. April
I did not sell my house yet. Things seem to be slow and people are being fussy. I cannot blame people, since they are spending their money. I am on the MLS at Homeland Court in Brampton. I will talk to you soon.
May 13th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
WOW Jack Jeff must have been really sleeping to miss that one thanks allot for the clue
May 13th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
May I also say, thank you Jack! And thanks also to Jack FM

May 13th, 2008 at 10:16 pm
Hi April
Sorry it took me until now to get back to you but my trusty computer
was down. Today everything is ok and working fine. I have just
emailed Jeff C. to tell him to give you my email address. Let me
know if it works or not.
Thanks,
Kathy
May 13th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
HEY CLAIRE,
I hope you read my comments that were on yestersday blog at 9:54 p.m., as I always tell people that some of us post after Jeff goes to bed and therefore the 52 he held back yesterday are posted after we have all gone to bed, so it always helps to read the day’s before to see if there are any comments for you, right girlfriend??
You said that it didn’t show that you had kidney stones? Did you ever find out what caused the problem? The reason I ask is because at one time stones in my gall bladder and the pain was horrible but with a proper diet they can (and did) disappear (dissolve) , so this is what I said I’d talk to you about today, you may want to check and see if that’s what you have or could it have been your appendix? I’ve never had mine out but have heard that the pain is a lot like kidney stones??
Sounds like you’re back to yourself today!!
Take care,
April
May 13th, 2008 at 10:47 pm
