Burnaby Fire Fighter’s Union President, Michael Hurley, with a surprise presentation at the podium for me!  It was the 16th Annual Fire Fighter’s Ball for their Charitable Society.    
       

      

“How Sweet It Is” to be told that I SAVED the Fire Fighters by MCing the “Evening In Paris” on short notice.  It’s the least I can do for the members who save lives and rescue animals too!    

                                              

                                                 

“All By Myself”, last night, when I logged into our Michael McDonald special through Clear Rewards. Love the former Doobie’s soulful sound and his new album ‘Soul Speak’.  I asked Russ “Did they really name themselves after drugs”?  To which the reply was “C’mon Charlee, you’re from Burnaby”.  Hmmm….always wondered why we were called ‘Burnaby Burnouts’?!!

That conversation led to the topic of ‘the devils music’ and the Crest Scandal in the 80’s where the company was accused of supporting the Church of Satan.  The president of Procter and Gamble supposedly made several tv appearances on talk shows, including Phil Donahue and Merv Griffin, denying such claims.  Regardless, the company has since changed its logo.
           
                              As a teengager, I remember looking at the back of toothpaste

tubes for the alleged ‘666′ in the stars of the Crest   logo.  I am spiritually unscathed from  those ‘dark’    days, even surving the Hell of a few bad   relationships since then.  So I think I must have a halo in Heaven with my name on it.  Although, my friends do lovingly refer to me as Charlee ‘Angel’ Mind Freak!

A Clear listener asked for some girlfriend advice on “Being dumped    or  divorced”.  While I do some R & D on that,  I highly recommend Debbie Ford’s  Spiritual Divorce’.  It helped remind me that the sun always rises after the darkest hour, and frankly, it kept me out of jail where I would have talked my cellmates to death!
