Dr. McDreamy
…from this day forward he’s Mr.McNightmare to me!!!!
By the end the show today, I had the good doctor working at THREE hospitals! How can you tell I don’t watch the hospital dramas? Got enough of my own.
Oh Perez Hilton would’ve blogged me on that one for sure. Wayne and I talked about Hilton’s new THREE minute radio shows for major stations in the U.S., and a movie in the works.
Hmmm…three minutes is enough to get ME into trouble with my big mouth. On or OFF the radio !
Hopefully, however, I’ll be on my best behaviour tomorrow night at the Hilton Metrotown as MC for the 16th Annual Burnaby Firefighter’s Ball. Global’s Steve Darling got the ‘911′ call from his pregnant wife and is unable to continue his four year reign as MC of the evening.
Dignitaries in attendance will include: Burnaby Mayor, Derek Corrigan; Deputy City Manager and Chair, World Police And Fire Games 2009, Chad Turpin; Burnaby Fire Chief, Bob Cook; Burnaby Fire Fighter’s Union President, Michael Hurley; and Burnaby RCMP Superintendent, Rick Taylor, among others. Grammy winning local artist Jim Byrnes will sing the national anthem for guests. Proceeds to the Burnaby Firefighter’s Charitable Society.
Join me Monday on the show for Russ’s return from Mexico, and the beginning of my annoying question “Did you get me anything”?
We’ll also do some Charlee chit chat, after 7am, with the Executive Director of ‘Dress For Success’, an organization helping disadvantaged women gain independence through donations of business attire, among other support.
And finally… ‘Silver Bullet’ was the phrase of the week this morning. Figuratively the term has now evolved into meaning ‘A direct and effortless solution to a problem’, derived from
the actual use of silver bullets; the most famous user being The Lone Ranger. Silver Bullet war bonds were issued in 1914. Silver Bullet cocktails served in 1930.
As promised, here’s the recipe on our ‘Happy Hour’ cocktail menu.
Cheers from Charlee..
And here’s to drowning my sorrows of Dr. McDreamy drama this morning!
Silver Bullet
2 1/2 oz gin
1 1/2 tsp Scotch whisky
1 twist lemon peel
In a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes, combine the gin and Scotch. Stir well. Strain into a shot glass. Garnish with the lemon twist.
