Resolutions
Thursday, January 3rd, 2008If you made a resolution at New Year’s, you’ve probably broken it by now. But if you’re still on the wagon (or pretending to be to all your friends), here are Opinion Research Corporation’s stats about last year’s top resolution success rates:
- Increase exercise - 51% failed
- Eat healthier - 58% failed
- Save money - 52% failed
- Spend time with family - 57% failed
- Enjoy leisure - 54% failed
I don’t know about you, but I don’t buy these stats for one minute. If 51% failed to increase their workouts, that means almost half succeeded. I wasn’t seeing 49% more people at the gym in April. Forty-three percent spent more time at home last year? If that were true, we would probably have seen a spike in family court cases, too. And I see that quit smoking/drinking/procrastinating/anything didn’t even make the Top 5. I guess that’s because nobody likes a quitter.
Did you make a resolution? Do have an opinion about them? Feel free to post your comments using the reply section below. I’ll respond on the blog, so be sure to check back later. Today’s bonus code is QUITTER. It’s valid until midnight on January 4th.
